Well,if really in terrible Condition why keep on repairing a Time Bomb.?Every Month go to Workshop..no fun.

Should not be too bad. Old car inevitably will need some wear and tear repair, but of course if it is a build quality problem, then it is a different case.

CLA are German engineered, made in Hungary.

A conti car will never age as gracefully as your Toyota, Nissan, Honda. Be prepared to pay frequent visits and money to the workshop as the engine and chassis parts start to fail due to w&t and from our hot and humid weather. If your car is always parked outdoors, the plastic parts get brittle over time. Take it as part and parcel of the "Conti car ownership experience".

Japanese plastic parts will also fail. But they are less costly to replace due to availability and accessibility to make the switch.

For run of mill repairs in the West, can give VAG at Toh Tuck a try. They are more Volks/Audi specialists, but can also do Merc repairs for the less exotic models. I use them for my regular servicing,  suspension/brake parts changes. Mainly due to short distance from my home. For the more complex failures (thankfully few), Auto Spritze is my go to workshop.

I used auto spritze before too. A bit on the higher end for pricing but good work.
yes part and parcel of conti. Maybe in the past they had an edge in driving feel. But their over use of poor quality parts and suppliers plus wanting everything biodegradable, makes it really wanting in longevity and quality .

Why so touchy! 🤣
Anyway, lots of info in the videos posted by that Malaysian boss on CLA. Almost everything he says is grounded and applicable. You just need to decide how much you want to dump into repairs vs changing. To reset everything will take quite some $$

Usually I ignore such comments as a reaction is what the other guy wants. I never understood why people behave in such a way, making fun of others. Maybe they have their own issues…

But sometimes it is good to put it up for discussion. I find being kind to other people actually help yourself more than others. Seriously, for myself when I get stressed, I get angry easily and become cruel or nasty to others… it is bad for me actually… something I learnt.

New Mercs, old Mercs, vintage Mercs and AMG Mercs. Even up to the V12 SLS.

Visit them and you will see many older Mercs undergoing open heart surgery.

Thanks.

MCR should have a dedicated section for workshops for each marque.

Can't trust workshops that can claim to "do it all"/"one stop shop". Of course, any car workshop can perform a simple oil change.

Even for BBA which is very common, and even more so for non BBA like Alfa, Maserati, Bentley - specialised workshops should be the way to go.

Go chip soon or auto spritze should be ok. Both shops mainly do Merce. The boss of auto sprite is also driving a 16 yo w212 like mine.  of course he should have some other good cars with him.😁

Wah at this age the wire melt problem still exist, i used to have a c200 long ago, the headlight wires also degraded and exposed the wires, i ended up using wire tape to tape them up . 😅

This guy does a lot of tik tok like this and he does the same on BM as well, smart way to earn singaporean business using his low operating cost there.  I am sure his business must ne damn good.
