Hi SDF4786K, the 20 bucks is actually a "giveaway deposit". Our management don't want member who register the giveaway then go no-show. So this is to make sure the member who have paid the $20 are keen about this giveaway. (of cuz, there may be chances that some still go no-show. But we are trying our best to prevent it!)

Once you have tested the products and wrote a review in Product Guide, we will be contacting you for a token of appreciation.

Yes. you can go to the workshop of your choices. We are all adults, you just have to mention which workshop you went to, and when you are going down. And that will do!

Have you join this giveaway? Motul engine oils are really good! [bounce2]

HI. Yes. And was invited for the oil to try. Will make the payment soon as in osaka now. Thanks again for the response.

Before I forget. Can I confirm that we are at liberty to select the 300v to try or its a random selection to give away?

Do give Motul a shot. [thumbsup]

Changed my engine oil last week and drove up to Kukup over the weekend.

First impressions – car felt lighter and engine was quieter and smoother.

Kudos and thanks to Motul for this opportunity to try out their range of superior engine oil.  [:)]

@Galantspeedz

Like that you have to wait at least 8 months later, for the verdict.  [;)]

Not all engine oils are created equal. I had used a branded engine oil which advertises aggressively and sponsors F1 races, but tmy car engine was no smoother after the oil change.

i agree not all oils are created equal.. similar to petrol... different brands are suitable for different cars... not sure why though

From what I understand, Motul is group v, ester-based oil. Generally more expensive and gives the "smoother" feeling.

Redline is the other one, probably cheaper.

Been using 300V for about 50000km. It was recommended to change every 5k but never felt any difference, however I changed it out every 8k. I would say its a very consistent oil in terms of performance if you are constantly raming up your engine (3Krpm & above). Power feedback is always there and the longer you drive, the better the power.

Turbocharged

Am using Mobil One and changing out every 15k. No roughness felt. Supercharger engine.

Reading the link on the first post.. H-tech is supposed to meet Oem extended drain Interval.

Which specific Motul were you using?

If it's that jialat like SHU, then I got no point trying already..

I believe he might be using 300V, 300v recommended to change every 5k instead of normal 10k. I used till 8k change, so far still ok for me but I do not wanna risk too much.

Firstly, thanks to Motul and KobayashiGT for arranging the Oil change and appointment, all went with no issues, drove there at appointed time, within 1 hour I am done.

Previous Oil

  • Castrol Edge 5W-40
  • Petrol used – Shell Fuel Power 98 – Pump 50 Litre(Full Tank), about $120
  • Mileage till Red Light up – 510KM
  • Traffic Pattern (70% highway, 30% Normal road)

Motul Oil

  • 8100 X-cess 5W-40, oil changed on Friday 2nd December at Godspeed AutoTechnik (Cleaned my Air Filter for me and used original VW Oil Filter)
  • Petrol used – Shell Fuel Power 98 – Top up to full after Oil Change
  • Mileage till ½ Tank – 330KM
  • Expected Mileage till full tank will be about 530-550 based on previous experience. From ½ Tank meter to Red light is 220-280KM. About 10% more vs Castrol, will update if different
  • Traffic Pattern (70% highway, 30% Normal road)

Petrol consumption test performed as above. Was using the Recommended 5w-40 Castrol Edge Titanium (VW/Audi Spec 502.00 505.00 oil).

Changed on Dec 2nd with Motul 5w-40 X-cess(VW/Audi Spec 502.00 505.00 oil), drove around quite a bit on the weekend including on Saturday on Scotts road where the road was Jammed due to road closure.

Initial Feel driving off from workshop was smooth, similar to Castrol. Next day morning start engine when cold, the start up more responsive and idling slightly better compared to Castrol when new. Low speed driving and power is about the same as Castrol. Revving to higher speed and about 100KM, the engine is more stable. Overall slight improvement from Castrol and will monitor the mileage and if Motul really gives up to 10% more constantly over a few full tanks.
