Wall Electrical Socket

:o  :o But is actually easier for them to do it with a concealed box than without  [:|]

This is a conceal KO box, surface boxes usually don't have the round cutouts. Concealed sockets/switches does not mean no need base box.

I see. I have no experience with these concealed walls.. My house very simple, trunking and boxes..

think mine also don't have the plastic box, cost cutting. One of them loose, I twisted to peek through, no casing.

Twincharged

TS switch is built in wall. This bracket is for on the wall which is for us HDB dweller who don't mind being less aesthetic.

And from TS's picture, I can't tell is there is enough concrete mass there for a wall plug to be drilled and plugged.

no leh, I replaced my heater switch last month.

my house switches and wall socket are all concealed and it has a proper PVC back box behind the switch/socket outlet faceplate.

Did the plumber hack or just add surface pipes.

If he hacked then you could have put the new pipes in trunking embeded in the hacked area.

For conceal they usually use metal boxes cemented in. The metal tabs probably broke off or if the box was plastic then over time the plastic crack. The taobao part should work well. My colleague actually bought some and I played around with it. Seemed solid enough to work well. It's probably a little tedious to fix, but It beats hacking the wall to replace the box.

TS pls do yourself a favour and remedy the situation by installing recessed back boxes all round. All it takes is one snug plug and some intense tugging and your nice flushed socket faceplate will be ruined.

Just remove the screw and plug and get a new plug and screw.

If you have the tools, install a back box inside the concrete. Otherwise just leave it as it is till the next renovation.

Walls got cum juice lah. Water bills increased not because of 30% increase in price, but continuous flow of water in an uncontrolled manner. The advance folks use leak detector.  [laugh]

No need advance method.

With all taps shut, look at the water meter. If it is still moving, means somewhere got leak.
