Anonymous Dislike function - Time for review?

but recently there are people giving dislikes to seemingly mild and harmless posts... in any case the admin/mods have explained before on their stand and i respect that. since things are not going to change, then we just have to deal with it.

while "dislike" is an outlet for some to quitely disagree with the views that are expressed without getting into an argument openly,    

and most would think that this is a non consequential issue in a forum like this

 

However, an "anonymous dislike" gives a very strong negative connotation/effect (just like "praise" gives an equally positive opposite effect)  and it is understandable why some may be upset over this

 

maybe the choice of the term "dislike" is not ideal, and a change to the term "disagree" may be less contentious and more likely to find more accomodating views

 

" I dislike your view"

 

"I disagree with your view"

 

It is always ok to agree to disagree and everyone in forum can be happy

I'm dulan not because that person disagrees with me.

 

I'm dulan because he doesn't have the balls to have an open discussion on why he disagrees. I don't like backstabbers.

 

And those posts that got disliked is of harmless nature. It shows those two guys in the Stinger thread have malicious intent to 搞破坏 and not contribute anything at all.

The system requires an user applying the dislike to also give comments. I think it were those hostile comments. Nowadays, many acting like heroes behind the keyboards. Try to do away the need to give comments when applying the dislike to see how it would be. Should anyone wish to dislike and also give comments, just simply do reply
