A noob question, previously CEVS rebate is taken from PARF, will the new VES surcharge add to PARF at end of year 10?

muahahahahahaha ... i laugh until cannot stop

surcharge got give back? it’s a SLAP on the face la

surcharge means penalty means PUNISH you for buying a not so “green” car ... muahahaha

it’s an OUTRIGHT tax straight to ah goong pocket

parf = what you paid for arf

gst , import tax, ves, coe , simi sai are all not in arf

Looking at the COE is now 34k, their car prices never go down at all. When COE was 45K, altis basic also around 100K. Now COE 34K, Altis also 100k .Who is taking who for a ride?

Are you hinting that we should buy Honda?

Civic1.6 was selling at $110k when COE was $45k.

Today? Civic is only asking for $97k!

Bbbmtl!

Looks like i need to evaluate my "faith" in the SG govt.

In the commercial world, it would look, feel and sound like a scam, i buy a green car, I pay less but take back less 10 years later, I buy a gas guzzler and somehow the rules change totally to become an outright tax. Ok, i forget we talking about Ah Gong.

rebate = used to offset arf. by right car should be cheaper. hence, lower parf because collect less = payback less

surcharge = outright tax as punishment and nothing to do with arf

but rebate kena makan by dealer as part of margin liao

sibei shiok ah!!!!

Maybe its yes. Could altis be the number 1 again?

Nope.Their base is slowly getting eroded by the Korean slanted H and K, and probably even the Japanese straight H.

I think the Elantra might be no.1 again for 2019 though, just as it was no.1 for 2009.

I am just kidding.... Our scholars are the best when it comes to such schemes. Using your money to change your behavior, never theirs. Edited by Voodooman

For me I don't like mazda because of Eurokars.

Don't get me wrong, Mazdas are good MIJ cars, owned a pre-Eurokars Mz6 as my first car.

Somehow the market segmentation, premium pricing  and service under Eurokars turns me off.

seems like many dealer is tanking the ves esp cat A to hook buyers. wonder will coe rebound with demand due to successful hooks. or will dealer pakat to only bid those ves impacted models. the rest dont bid. food for thought

Most likely "absorbed" by reducing their bidding budget for ur COE.... therefore COE will keep falling....

I must confess: this updated VES scheme makes no sense at all! Kia Niro: VES C1; Hyundai Ioniq: VES band A2. Essentially the same car for both families. SEAT: 1.4 Ateca VES B, 1.0 Ibiza VES B, Leon 1.0 VES C1; VW Golf 1.0 VES B. Suggests to me that the PM bands are so close to the operating cutoff for these engines that really minor differences will push them into different bands. But that really makes no sense from any environmental sort of justification (which was the entire rationale for VES in the first place).
