Can EC take ron 95 petrol since it is turbo-charged?

Yup. Mine says RON 95 when I open the fuel door, so I've been pumping that.

I alternate between 95 and 98 when half tank or 1/4 tank left. so I assume average will 96-97 Ron.

I normally don't go minimum from what specified to avoid any chances of knock and to try maximize the engine performance wherever possible.

Might not be a good practice.

Some say engine computer will tune the engine for the petrol used. If keep alternating, computer might get confused.

Hi guys,

I went to a test drive today and I must say I do love the exterior and interior of this beast. (Comparing with Toyota CHR, Mazda CX3/CX5, Honda HRV/CRV and Nissan Qashqai)

Test drive experience was not bad and this car does have the power to easily overtake!

I'm still considering due to some some minor features/technologies which was taken out by local AD and I find it's quite a waste. Some of the features I notice missing (are as below), can I double check owners of EC here (SINGAPORE)? Just wanted to be sure what am I missing here.

Eclipse Cross (Sports Edition) - SG vs AUS/UK/TW

  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW)* & Lane Change Assist (LCA) - N.A for Singapore  :(
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) - N.A for Singapore  :(
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW)* & Lane Change Assist (LCA)* - N.A for Singapore  :(
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)* - I'm not sure???
  • Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) - Included
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)- I think this is not adaptive (means it wont automatically follow the speeds of the car in front)???  [furious]
  • Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) & Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) - I think this is included  [confused]
  • Rain Sensing Wipers - Included
  • Dusk Sensing Headlamps - Not sure ?
  • Auto High Beam (AHB) - Included
  • Reverse Camera & Sensors - Included
  • Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS)* - Not sure?
  • Hill Start Assist (HSA) - Included
  • ROCKFORD FOSGATE SOUND SYSTEM - N.A  [furious]
  • TOUCH PAD CONTROLLER - included

Appreciate if any owner of EC in Singapore can verified or correct me if I'm wrong. I'm sure info above would be a great reference for thos are keen on this model!

Thanks alot guys!!!

Cheers

Thanks again Contipro bro for the confirmation. Nonetheless, I still felt this is the best looking suv in the market! If nothing goes wrong... I hope to be a proud owner of one soon!

Cheers.

Hi, some points for your consideration and observation when test drive:

Good

a) Great torque for acceleration and overtaking.

b) The side sills are protected by door fully covered till bottom, hence when the side body is wet or dirty no need worries your leg or pant or skirt (for ladies) getting dirty or wet.

c) The side sills are more toward inner, so getting in and out make easy.

d) 1.5 road tax cheaper than 2.0 or 2.4.

Where you get the torque like 2.4 engine while fuel consumption like 2.0 (almost).

e) The HU supplied is very stable and great for connecting Apple carplay or Android auto.

f) Even it is CVT, the ratio change pattern programmed to mimic normal auto transmission (but not 100%). At least the feel is better than its own outlander and other car brand like Honda notice during test drive.

g) CVT drive instead of DCT. Where DCT dry dual clutch not very suitable for creeping. (minimize my risk)

h) low engine rpm example 100 km/h, ~2000rpm, pedal assume 25% depress.

i) Independent rear suspension. Torsion beam suspension is NO NO in my list when looking for new ride (unless no budget).

No Good

a) I consider High fuel consumption 10~12 km/L, If mostly city even low at ~8km/L

b) If you use cruise control 80~90km/hr, I find the engine control at ~1800rpm to maintain its optimum torque, and surprisingly this give better fuel consumption versus I drive without cruise control.

c) Sometime depend on your load change, the turbo lag may felt at 1800rpm.

d) Sometime when rpm drop <1200rpm and you sudden need to gain back speed you may felt some jerking. Not sure this is due to the turbo try to spool up again or the torque convertor full lock up engaging at the region.

This happen if you press the pedal slightly, if you press more no such feel. Is like the system hunting for the correct output based on your very litter pedal input. (if you know what I try to say)

e) Small boot space compare to HRV or QQ

f) Body roll more not as good as HRV. This due to higher center of gravity.

g) no blind spot and adaptive cruise.

h) Mit selected CVT ratio not as good as honda jade/civic, hence the fuel consumption remain higher versus honda.

happy shopping of your new ride...

Thanks for sharing .... very informative. Looking forward driving EC

Tomorrow I'm dropping by the dealership to see if there's any apparel or accessories available for sale (I got the monogrammed cap, keychain, bag, powerbank pen, picnic blanket and mug as part of the welcome package). If its for sale and any of you guys are interested in it, I may get the small items for you since I'm transiting in Singapore early next month on my way back to Darwin from Bali.

The dealer still owes me a carpet boot liner since they didn't have stock when I collected the vehicle. Otherwise, the parts office told me that a lot of genuine accessories should be available in the next 2 to 3 months.

Hi , is the monogrammed cap on sale ? I’m interested , thks
