Dorje87 1st Gear August 12, 2018 Share August 12, 2018 True also. I am mainly comparing these 3 models due to the price bracket. Went to test drive the EC and Mazda6 2.0L yesterday. Mazda6 is underpowered and noisy engine so it is out now. Remains with EC vs Civic Turbo. Both has got its own merits. EC more feature packed, safety, HUD, better riding position, better warranty, etc. Civic powerful engine, brand name, higher OMV, better FC.. Anyone compared these 2 regarding the NVH? i think EC has better insulation.. correct me if i am wrong? Still hope to hear more of everyone's opinions. Thanks! Your selection is not a fair comparison. Eclipse cross should be compared with subaru xv, hyundai tucson, nissan qashqai, mazda cx, etc. ↡ Advertisement

I am in same situation as you between honda civic/jade and Mit EC.at the end go for EC being honda ride too low to my liking. NVH both brand about same in my opinions. FC I don't care much, as you want power then will burn more fuel...
Adyrai 1st Gear August 12, 2018 Share August 12, 2018 Press and hold the FCM button until the display shows that the FCM is switched off. What this means is that the car will not brake for you in an actual situation where an accident is imminent.Hi pkchukiss , Done , Thank you for sharing the information. cheers
Bluebull 2nd Gear August 13, 2018 Share August 13, 2018 As mentioned by Enjoy previously, its hard to compare EC with the other cars in your list. Perhaps take a step back and ask yourself, do you want a SUV or a sedan. Once I knew I was shopping for a SUV, I was only looking at the Tucson, Qashqai and other comparable SUVs, sedans were totally not considered. If you are still comparing the EC with Civic, then perhaps you might need to understand what type of car you actually need / want before your final selection. Its like, asking yourself what's for lunch today. OK, I want fast food, then which one? Mac? BK? KFC? You wont be comparing Mac? Fish & Chips? Laksa? Bak Chor Mee? Right? True also. Some consumers compare based on their budget, then narrow down to which model they prefer 2. richard_crl032 6th Gear August 15, 2018 Share August 15, 2018 (edited) 10k differences Hi SGC, Great info ... think this is the worst 10k more to spend in my search for replacement ride for my wife. However, halogen headlights is ouch ! Going to view and test drive in about 3 hours. Key criteria are crossover/compact SUV and hopefully 1.5/1.6T for a bit of punch which limited to crv, kuga and this due to ves but this looks arguably unique .. any other alternatives I missed ? Cheers. Richard Edited August 15, 2018 by richard_crl032

Hi Dorje, Interesting review ... tot m6 was ok especially at 103k nia for basic variant cos missed launch price of sub 100k one month ago. Not the quietest and slightly bumpy .. still acceptable and love the psuedo conti interior with soft plastic and leather wrapped center console unlike the civic turbo. Looking forward to my test drive later. Cheers. Richard
Vinceng Turbocharged August 15, 2018 Share August 15, 2018 (edited) Congrats but be prepared to have a long wait. Experience when buying my EC with C&C was regretful... wonderful car but very bad shopping experience with them. Probably one of my worst car buying experience. I chose a colour with ready stocks, got my coe the week i booked the car and got my car only a month later. The terrible part was that there wasn't any communication about what the hack was going on. Initially was told 2 weeks to get the car after i got the coe. On the week that i was supposed to collect the car, was told to wait another 2 weeks. No explanation given, no apologies from them, no compensation whatsoever. Next, when i traded in my car and handed over the car to them, was told i would receive a cheque to refund me for the trade-in within 5-6 working days. Waited an entire month before cheque finally came and again no good explanation (except a message from SE to say Republic Auto probably overlooked it), no apologies, no compensation or nothing at all to make good a situation which they screwed up. To me they are just not accountable at all. Probably my first and last time buying from C&C. Would probably spend my hard earned money elsewhere than to put up with such unethical behaviour. That being said, enjoy your EC. I hope you have a better experience than me. Would have been nice if EC came with ACC and electric tailgate. Your experienced was negative because C&C is selling way too many cars that they can handle. Not just Mitsubishi but also Kia & Mercedes. They have lots of backlog at their PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) department in Teban Gardens where local accessories are fitted. If the pre sales experience is bad, wait till you experience the after sales. When you send your car for servicing, the queue can be long ...... like the queue at the causeway. For my previous ride with C&C, servicing queue was 5 minutes at most. Went for my 1st EC service, queue was about 15 minutes. manageable. I send in before around 8:30-8:45am all the time. Never experienced queue like causeway before. Was your long queue experience a one-off or always?

Cliffye Neutral Newbie August 15, 2018 Share August 15, 2018 Having drove my ec for 3 months. I am still at the stage of exploring n discovering the use of the accessories and the power of the car. I have brought the EC after comparing it with the tiguan, forester and vezzel. My previous ride is a stream(drove for 9yrs 6months) i simply love the look of it. With a 1.5cc engine but comes with add torque. On long run you would simply enjoy saving based on low fc(if ur right foot is not heavy) and the road tax. Pp those se are enjoying too much sales until they forget all about before and after sales service. Other than it, i think This new EC ride of mine is simply awsome. Hi Contipro, Think all ADs are not positively reviewed by owners and of course, we all each have our own expectation. Exceptions are usually super high end cars or ADs with added value services but payable to pick up/send back ... nothing is free in the world and ADs run biz to make max $ I guess ... else buy cheap from PI with no intention or expectation of aftersales service again with exceptions of likes of Richburg etc. but also at a premium. Circle of Fast, Cheap and Good .... prevails and I always avoid talking about exceptions which cows come home also yawn .... richard_crl032 6th Gear August 15, 2018 Share August 15, 2018 (edited) u can also consider gla180 baby suv. Do share your feedback after test drive experience. Hi Bancer, Thanks but gla180 at that price is not too inviting. Had my test drive with nice/friend/profession lady SE ... no complain there. In summary with consideration that I am driving the forester fxt modded heavily on sound proofing, autofoam etc., and not someone who cares too much on FC as qualifying statements: - 1.5T turbo indeed more punchy for nicer and quieter driving experience than many 2,0L NA car, including CX5 2.0L and XV 2.0L tested recently especially against compact SUV/crossover but not level of Civic Turbo which is of course 1.5T sedan - NVH is ok and typical but transmission under normal drive is not the quietest ... has this audible/vibration roughness - interior is typical of mass market car but rear shift-able and reclining seats is cool ... a little bit more busy, including the leather seats) than forester which is also certainly not high quality with CX5 beating it for sure and even the new 95k XV (no solar film on windscreen due cool hi end eyesight safety system) but beats the CX3 2.0L which is simply aweful - exterior is subjectively unique but nothing to shout about ... perhaps too much chrome even for me from merc gen - low entry price of 103k for the bare bone "elegence" variant of existing clearance units (silver and titanium grey) .. CX5 basic is 118k, CRV is 130k but halogen headlights is hard to swallow Will discuss more with wife but I probably will not recommend since 103k is still a lot of $ and ok to push the budget a bit though not to wishful XC40 at 162k in last week's demo sales especially since 2nd family car for wife to drive to/fro work on weekdays. Hope this helps .... Cheers, Richard Edited August 15, 2018 by richard_crl032 ↡ Advertisement
