Depends

Mileage low may not necessarily mean good condition. But more often than not, the condition of OPC should be relatively good if low mileage.

I know of someone who has a OPC Lotus Elise which he used it for Track. Condition of the car not so good after 5yrs. So only TS will know if his OPC is good for renewal or not..

agree la... TS no additional info ma... anyway my disclaimer is "if condition still good"...

High mileage doesn’t mean condition is bad.

Low mileage doesn’t mean condition is good.

me? no......my cuz...i not sure. But he likes to go driving holidays up north. Honda no worries wan. One of my friend's daily commute is Bukit Indah to CBD to and fro......Honda stream. He bought new nearly 10 yrs ago and now the car has clocked 300 000. His engine still runs smoothly but many parts changed due to wear and tear. He will change his tyre once a year..

Thanks for your replies.

The car model is Hyundai Avante

OMV about $11K

COE about $12K

mileage should be around 40 to 50K

Car is definitely in good condition , thinking of selling it coz my kid are grow up. I don't drive to work too.

At the moment, I am thinking of selling off since I hardly drive .

Based on the feedback, it seem that renewing the COE if I want to get a better deal?

OPC usually have near-zero residuals on its 10th year.
So it’s basically at scrap value.

If you intend to extend the COE cos it’s deemed under-used and overall car is still good for another (say) 200,000 km ... then my guidance is to first convert it to black plate as near its EOL as possible (this is to minimise the pro-rata of $17K fee that you’d need to pay back LTA, to convert) ... and then renew its COE at the PQP.

Then you’ll have a still-good condition “normal” car for another 10 years!

Note: You’d still need to pay the full 10-yr PQP, to extend COE, whether it’s red, or black plate!
It’s thus a no brainer to extend a black plate (rather than a red plate) then, right?

Thanks.

Pardon my ignorance. What is PQP...

PQP is the average past 3 months COE pricing one have to pay if renewing COE.

Based OMV of 11k, ARF would be 0 after 17k rebate.

So, PARF = 0

not ZERO! assuming all the numbers are right then and car was 1st reg as OPC and never change status again.

OMV=11k,  COE= 12k. the 17k OPC discount will be taken from the COE 1st then ARF. so ARF Paid:11-5 = 6k

PARF is 50% of ARF paid.

so 3k.

I think there was this one time where COE was so low and PARF not even enuff to rebate the 17k for those who bought OPC. Meaning the buyer didn't enjoy the full 17k discount. Happened about 10 or 9 years ago. Do a search.

yes. during the late 2008 and early 2009. coe was only 3-10K.

this is a good example.

there are others with 0 but likely SGcarmart does not display it.

But now it is no longer the case cause there is a min 5k ARF to be paid.
