I check Google Maps before setting off most of the time. Usually very accurate.

i usually set my destination on Waze.  It will automatically re-route if heavy traffic.

Anyway, not many alternative route here.

im sure this week PHV all report record earnings.😁

I drive PHV but i avoid peak hours.

You get paid more per trip, but you get stuck in traffic jam. In terms of earnings per hour, it turns out about the same.

Remember SimplyGO to replace the Nets & EZ-link legacy card-based ticketing system which is nearing it's end of its operational lifespan even though it's still working.

And ERP 2.0 to replace the current gantry-based ERP system that is still working but was in-operation for some 25 years.

This 35 year old train, though still working, must be beyond it's end-of-life cycle. I'm surprised it's still in use.

I'm guessing a day or 2 of free rides.😁

Sure you want to demand free rides from smart?

No free meal in this world. Someone would pay for the free rides if not now then would be in.a year or two with fare adjustment.

Is better to be more generous in forgiving and pardon.

A lot of 1G train had been scrapped.

1G train was scheduled to be retired sooner.  Plan changed when LTA took over the assets.

2G and 3G train will be scrapped (gradually) rather than refurbished.

Accordingly, 1G train life was stretched till 2026. 1G train went through 3 refurbishment. The entire batch will be scrapped by 2026.

Since last Wednesday, train ride to the west on EWL is free.

Fare adjustments still got a lot of deferment

… ok, if that is the way you think, carry on.

i actually tried to google Taiwan, hongkong mrt train lifespan and they replace it 40-50 years.. Japan I can’t find the stats…

I guess the point being put across is that in terms of maintenance and overhaul mentality and standards, we (and can say it's the same across south east asia, some countries being worse) are nowhere near the standards of taiwan, hk, and definitely not like the japanese at all. So we can't expect our trains to last that long.

Years ago, I have worked in a manufacturing production environment in japan and compared it to the subsidiary branch here in SG , can tell for sure the standards of the rank and file production workers and technicians in terms of adherence to standards, level of skill and care taken in maintenance, are not the same [laugh]
