To me a brand doesn't define premium. Take a look at the KIA Stinger.

 

Premium comes in a whole package and I think the Stinger fits.

 

The thing about this Mazda 3 is they are trying to get B&B consumers buying a "premium" car. The marketing is just wrong. VES rebate of 10k didn't really help either.

 

To be fair the interior and exterior does feel plush. If they really want premium just go all out and get the 2.0L at least.

So far i have onie seen youtube vids on mz3. So cant comment on its actual quality and finishing.

 

Mazda se claims the omv is higher than mz6 standard though.

 

Frm youtube the interior does not impressive. Need to touch and see though to judge lor.

 

Pricing subjective. Though at 92k. Its just 8 to 10k lesser than mazda 6 standard. Which is prob hard to stomach.

 

Though 92k prob get u a dated altis or basic civic. On price seems not worth it.

 

Unless the specs. The interior is so well made. If as premium as the mazda 6 cabin, well then mazda 3 has a good product to sell then.

 

Some might just plonk for mz3 over mz6 coz of the size.. some do like smaller ride.

Paired with a 2.0L or 2.5L yes it might be premium enough. A 1.5L (114hp/150Nm-- really pathetic) underpowered car trying to claim premium? Nah.. [laugh]

That's even lower than avante/cerato of 126hp/155nm. So low?

 

At such pricing, might not be that easy to move. They are competing with civic/altis for a sedan at this price range. 100+k for top spec might as well get mazda 6 already.

 

Maybe it's just launch price, it will revise lower in a few months when units fail to move.

Like I mentioned.

2l mz3 n mz6 price diff is quite close. Don't make sense for consumer to buy mz3

 

Not sure how the members get the specs for this new mz3. 2018 version is 155nm n 118hp la, how can the newer version become less power. New version is 1.5 dk what hybrid, I'm quite curious abt it's fc n actual bhp n nm

Tek will remove some of the features in order to reduce the omv. Things like electric brake will be remove

 

Tek is not like BM la, they r not that greedy n yaya

Depends how rich you are, some people would find 8 to 10k not a lot, might go buy mazda 6 than mazda 3. But to some people 8 to 10k not a small amount of money lo.  [:p] And some people might also dont mind spend 92k on a dated altis or basic civic?! Lol.

Actually ignoring the price, I believe mazda 3 delivers a better drive than civic and altis as they are using the 6at gearbox, not cvt. Drive will be way more engaging.

Mazda 3 is associated with phv. As we all know, phv drivers.....many see them as low status people. See them no up.

 

So car buyers do not want to be associated with phv drivers.

Vios, sienta, altis, chr, wish, prius also associated with phv meh. In fact almost every car model r used as phv liao

Attrage and Mazda 3 are the Pioneer phv cars. Of course, as time goes on, more car models will be used as phv.

thats true, tested the city & civic turbo and the cvt feels way better than the cvt used in xv/impreza/vios though. somehow honda has managed to tweak it to be more engaging.

puny under powered NA1.5L. how to be driver's car? unless you lose the 4drs and bonnet, rear seats to reduce weight.

They can remove things like dual climate, electric brake for all three specs. Happened in mz2 n mz3
