sound very serious! What was the diagnosis. By 40° they would be forcing you to take cold shower liao. My twin had a very high temp once.......speaking nonsence and in delirium...........high temp can result in damaged organs and was told the brain can have irrepairable damage.

Thats where I can barely remember what happened in TPY hospital.

I was placed in a sitting position on a wooden bench..... to wait but I slumped sideways.

Then I remember some kind of injection and immersion into a tub but not sure if got ice.

What happened after I cannot remember.

Like that then this is my second time possible damage to my brain liao... Zzz

Good. Fix it so the next NSF to die has to really try.

I mean really try to die in training.

Yup the real stories the NSF can tell.

Hey idea for movie.  Not bad huh?

Anyway,  appreciate lala18 damage control.

Correction: you survived

How many others died?

personally, i didnt find the training unbearable although for some, they did struggle. the early batches SAF didn't manage very well but I visited my sons camp when they were enlisted, i think there are vast improvements.

as to your second question, i am sure there are but we need to understand the circumstances and why. I support NS but I also advocate more professional training and better use of resources. dont waste young men time just because it is a national service. SAF needs to be accountable for all their expenditures and utilization of manpower.

Police to probe death of NSF Dave Lee; youth's mother reserves comment pending investigations

I like Mindef's initiative to involve the police...   and the mum is smart to reserve comments pending investigations... no matter how outraged she maybe...

still a reminder... NS is a national security issue... if got no facts or half truths... dont say...  i humji...

A conscription system which is constrained in the pool of mannpower it can draw on and squeezed in time to train them?

In this case, enlisted in Jan, completed BMT in March, 8km route march n Apr. Ended.

The chronology is shockingly short? . Some really need more time.?

its AIT.......if not wrong they are in a Guard's conversion course directly after BMT. Its normal training for all ns men to be in the course that will be their serving vocation directly after bmt. These are specialised course to train them on their route to be an elite trooper, the lucky ones will be going for the other services course. Everyone that served ns will know this because each of us will be going for the course that we are choosen for and its quite a rush as we have only less than 3 month before we are turned Operational. Is it only rushed for some vocations? Or all?

How come some people still have so much free time to act as cheap bangla labor to spend 3 months packing ndp gift packs and calling people to collect their tickets?

On the plus side, I haven't heard of anyone dying from packing gift packs yet. Or acting as a cheap call center employee.

It’s a rush for some, relax for most.

Sadly commando, Guards and some other is a mad rush. No thanks to reducing Ns from 2-1/2 year to currently 2years (22month if pass Nafa)

In the past most unit are rush to wait and wait to rush. Now with shorten NS, most are rushing to complete necessary training.

Some ICTs are getting very hectic also cos' now there is deferment for tertiary studies now. So it's almost standard to have the 1st 3 years as low key. Then it becomes high all the way until just before the end.

Our last ICT was really quite hectic to complete the necessary training.

Is this police involvement something new? Theft, suicide, fatal accidents, rape..... Which type of case which happen inside saf camp will not involve police?

Does police have jurisdiction within army camp?

Otherwise how to perform the investigation?

This one has a clear cause of death. So it's just the Committee of Inquiry.

I really dont believe this sia. Most if not all of us had been through ns........many are in the army. Why do we need to explain what was dished out during our ns training? Its in the ns programme for so many decades and the toughness of the regime has been scaled down especially during bmt. If you are lucky you will get to serve in the service side as storeman, drivers, cooks...etc. If unlucky you get to serve in the combat unit such as Commandos, Guards, Infantry, AI and Combat Engineers. Whats so freaking hard to understand. After BMT you go to the course you are send to.m..no ifs no buts...........you get medical happy like bird.....no have bite the bullet and chiong. No one wants to serve for a paltry sum....even if the incentives are huge not many will want.......its a exercise of lan laness........you go you finish you fark off.

maybe a police report was made for unlawful death.......lan lan police got to get involved. Army has their own investigation unit.........but from what i read so far, think board recommended a police investigation......my assumption only har. Edited by Eviilusion
