I prefer oyster on sports Rolex.
Throttle2 Supersonic April 18, 2021 Share April 18, 2021 Jubilee on GmT is the champ. Rolex understood that. the GmT was the first ever sport model with a factory issued jubilee. No other sports rolex has that. whentheyreissue the new pepsi, rolex consciously put it on a jubilee to mark history. till this day, it stands that the GMT is the only sports rolex officially issued witha jubilee. 2
Staff69 Hypersonic April 18, 2021 Share April 18, 2021 (edited) saw the watch in person, was quoted 55k after discount very interesting design but...afraid that resale values would drop faster than you can spell it🤣🤣 if the price is right by a distressed owner😛😛😛 https://revolution.watch/freaking-awesome-the-ulysse-nardin-freak-out/ Edited April 18, 2021 by Staff69

And my conspiracy theory is that Rolex might want to milk more from its buyers by first offering the oyster bracelet on White Gold model 3 years ago... Everyone has their own preference. I personally prefer Oyster Bracelet over Jubilee, and whether it is exclusive on a particular sport model is not important to me. Maybe this is the key difference between a consumer and collector...
Throttle2 Supersonic April 18, 2021 Share April 18, 2021 @Carbon82 absolutely. some people like fat ones, some peoplie like thin ones. the oyster bracelet is a sportier look and appeals almost always to the younger taste the jubilee has a more elegant (jewelry) oldish look and appeals almost always to the classic old school taste. And yes again, the differences in appeal between a consumer and a true long term fan who studies, understands and appreciates the design evolution is great. Totally normal. An interesting fact :- until i turned 35 yrs old, i swore that i would never ever, over my dead body, wear or for that matter, buy a solid gold Rolex. after i bought my first daydate in 2008, i proceeded to stomp over my dead body at least 30-40 more times. 😂🤣 incidently i didnt like the Jubilee bracelet too, in my younger days, always opting for the oyster whenever there was the option. I even bought an oyster bracellet in the open market and sold away the original jubilee bracelet which came with my datejust 16264, to a doctor collector for $375, i think. In the years to come, i regretted that act and finally sold the watch with papers for a mere $4500. Sigh.... All tThis is not to say that liking the oyster over jubilee is wrong and vice versa, in case some people so misunderstand. This is to tell people that tastes do and will change over time. It’s just an amazing thing, this journey called Life. i learned some lessons and never swore off any other watch again, except Frank Mullers (er......hope i dont eat my words) muayhahahhahahahahahh

Only those who are in the Rolex bubble will be able to tell quickly via the dial colour. I can't unless the guy is sitting beside me in a restaurant or a meeting or something. To be fair, Rolex sold out all their professional sport models 3 years ago (except Smurf and those TT models maybe), hence the milking part is not too relevant. However, the differentiation allows the WG owners to feel better I guess.

Weez911 Supersonic April 18, 2021 Share April 18, 2021 (edited) Quite hard to imagine we are in a recession when a 190k watch like the one below has its order filled until next year, and Boutiques are no longer taking anymore orders. It is not a traditionally popular model like the RO and Nautilus but it doesn't matter. Beautiful watch though. I like this VC 2021 release.
