I've heard of monks in Vietnam burning themselves. That's a selfless act of true protest.

This-setting fire to someone else-is a disgustingly selfish act, indicative of psychopathy not courage.

China will never send in troops and china will try to behave as magnanimous as possible as taiwan and the world is watching every china steps. Esp oncoming taiwan election

"Never" sounds ominous.

Think they will. IF asked to intervene on behalf of the govt.

But yes, they unlikely to go in on own accord in case accused of breaking promise to let HK enjoy rule of law per 2 systems.

Don't know to be happy or sad.. Usually we would be very happy if boss tell us, you can just leave office early and if can work from home.. Then no need report to office.. But then difficult situation in Hong Kong now.. People still néed to work to earn money, yet there are so many young people destroying Hong Kong..

I would blame the education. Education play big role. Education educate u to be patriotic but education in hk was based on british which is anti china.

HKer was patriotic during Sichuan earthquake and Beijing Olympics. What happens after that?
To my understanding, China history (I self correct) is taught in Secondary school now. Why ppl still not patriotic?
There are so many patriotic PRC who are willing to surrender their PRC passport for American/European passport. Are they patriot?

Hong Kong is gone if this is not immediately put to a complete stop.

They need solid tough laws to make all such activities count as terrorism.

Upon which a complete crackdown to arrest and take perpetrators to task once and for all.

Gatherings with permit to be deemed unlawful regardless of violence or non violence. Peaceful or not peaceful.

Arrest immediately and lock up minimum 48 hrs awaiting questioning.
uncooperative detainees will have detention extended.  Real bullets should be used as self defence by the Force.

no choice already. Desperate times call for desperate measures.  If the Law doesnt take over now, it will never takeover again.

good luck HongKong.

i think we can all agree the police are at fault here.  Never use adequate force and let the situation fester so long, only leading to more property destroyed, business affected, people getting mobbed.

They need to do what the US did in Iraq in 2006-8 when faced with a massive insurgency and violence, what came to be known as the Surge by Gen. Petraeus.

learn from the US lah.

Let's hope the cockroaches will do better and set HK back 30 years.  Good for everyone else.  And we can visit cheap cheap.

Life is different from game. They think history will view them as hong kong freedom fighter. To me they are just people that bring great inconvenience to others, seem like they want to up their game to destroy others family too.

everything has consequences, HK will not be able to break free from China. They will only be condemned into second class citizens in China. This China is a very diff China from what they though. You need him more than He need you. It will take decades to mend it.
