Sdf4786k Twincharged September 4, 2015 Share September 4, 2015 The review show the suspension is pretty darn impressive Its great that the car manufacturers are going out to compete for the best saloon car, it makes the other keep up so consumers keep getting better rides Hope I get a change to drive the XE waiting for the XE 2.0 test review with the 328i... Hopefully, they stay honest and not waffle on the outcome with neither here nor there comments. like isolated rain may be expected with cloudy skies in certain part of Singapore kind of weather report
Mercury1 Turbocharged September 4, 2015 Share September 4, 2015 That would be an interesting comparison, looking at the specs of the Jag XE 3.0 vs 335i the Jag engine, suspension are superior. (from review so was the gearbox which is the same XF 7 speed running on Jag software), I read a review compariing the Jag XE 3.0 against the F30 LCI 340 this time it seems the F30 engine was superior in low rev torque output, gearbox response was better but suspension Jag still has a better edge. The 328 is an outgoing model, maybe the XE 2.0 vs the F30 LCI 330i would be a better compare as they both will have similiar launch dates. waiting for the XE 2.0 test review with the 328i... Hopefully, they stay honest and not waffle on the outcome with neither here nor there comments. like isolated rain may be expected with cloudy skies in certain part of Singapore kind of weather report
Thaiyotakamli Supersonic September 4, 2015 Share September 4, 2015 anyone attended the launch of XE last nite ? Heard from Mr @spring the car is crampy at the back haha
Jasbert 1st Gear September 4, 2015 Share September 4, 2015 Turnout was good and there were few XEs for guest to try out. My main dislike is the very limited mid rear sitting space. Taller young kids, not to mention adults, will have sit with their legs wide open.
Mayocraze Neutral Newbie September 4, 2015 Share September 4, 2015 how is this XE comparing with Merz C Class?
Thaiyotakamli Supersonic September 4, 2015 Share September 4, 2015 (edited) The designer could be petite lady. Or else why they would design such a crampy rear seat lol Worse the sloping rear roof not only restrict u from entering the car but also causing ur head to hit the roof so u need slide ur buttock ahead so as not to let roof touch your head Edited September 4, 2015 by Thaiyotakamli

Spring Moderator September 4, 2015 Share September 4, 2015 Ya it's abit cramp at the back n cos of the shaft tunnel being quite high, difficult for middle rear passenger to sit properly. Roof also quite slopping but that's to be expected for sports style saloon I guess. Personally, I prefer C Class but this car is 6 cylinder so more responsive, better drive? It didn't feel aluminum to me and felt solid like a Conti car List Price is $220k for the base model and $250k for the higher end one. I'm not sure what discount they giving.

ahboy86 3rd Gear September 4, 2015 Share September 4, 2015 (edited) I am pleased with what I saw. Overall a nice car; quite typical Jaguar. I quite like it and that very familiar Jaguar interior ambience is still very comforting. Nicely specced up too (even includes a motorised bootlid); save for a missing sunroof. Downsides, at a short glance, are: - somewhat cramped back; most comfortable with 2 adults at the back. - plasticky and hard dashboard (? maybe early production units) - rims on the Prestige spec look a tad too small to emphasize the athletic stance of the car. - 2.0 turbo petrol unit is not an Ingenium unit. - R-sport is a 30k premium over the Prestige on paper. Current promo is at $199,999 with 5 year free servicing. Will love a test-drive. Tempting but will hold off for now and take the plunge in the near future (this baby cat needs Ingenium power). :) Edited September 4, 2015 by ahboy86

Spring Moderator September 4, 2015 Share September 4, 2015 Sorry, have to correct my earlier post, the XE 2.0 is not 6 cylinder. Read the brochure too quickly which stated refinement of a 6 cyl from 4 cyl motoring! ↡ Advertisement
