By 2021, they have Charles Leclerc into the third year with Ferrari. It is absolutely unlike Ferrari to take a rookie as a second driver and have two young drivers in the team.

And 2021 season introduces a significant overhaul of the F1 car, it has to be someone that brings wealth of experience and knowledge to the team, it will have to be one of the current F1 drivers.

Looking at 2019 season.

Among top 5 drivers, only Lewis and Valtteri are experienced driver.  Based on past experience, maybe Valtteri.

On the other hand, Red Bull with 2 young and motivated driver scored good results in 2019.  With Albon onboard, Red Bull is challenging the big 2.

Iceman is past his peak, bringing him back to Ferrari will not help to win the championship.

Valtteri is a great driver and he has shown tremendous improvement in 2019.

But Mercedes may want to keep him as he is a great team player and driver as well.

It will be awesome if Ferrari brings in Valtteri Bottas or Daniel Ricciardo.

Think Carlos Sainz has emerged as the bookies favourite, followed by Ricciardo. Looks like it will be one of the 2. Maybe Bottas is a slim outside chance.

Personally I would like to see Alonso back in F1 but not sure whether he is rusty though I understand he is still racing.

Daniel Ricciardo signs for McLaren F1 2021 season on a "multi-year" deal. It seems Ferrari is close to signing or already signed Carlos Sainz as Vettel's replacement.

What a miss for Ferrari! Carlos Sainz for Ferrari? It never ever crossed my mind. One Podium in 5 F1 seasons, he will be the no.2 driver, no doubt.
