No horror photos of the scene at macs today? Perhaps, later.

I am glad TCM retail can open tomorrow.

On the last day before CB started I bought two bottles of brewed herbal drinks at one shop near my place. Remembered the china girl working there told me to take as many as I can store for the next few days because they were closing for the month [laugh] Turned out to stretch a little more than a month, but hope to see everyone back at the store tomorrow and earning income again.

You know the only good thing is, they announced it. Pretty sure a thing like this has happened elsewhere in the world but buried under the rug. That's the one good thing about Singapore. Whether the figures are 100% accurate or not, I would like to think that Singapore has been as transparent as they possibly could be already. Mistakes yes, reactive yes, lacking in some foresight yes, lacking in some assertiveness yes, but transparency and efficiency in dealing with this crisis, I would really like to think we've done our best in a terrible terrible situation. 😭

Because people here are not dumb. This is not like back in the 70s and 80s where people just accepted whatever rubbish was uttered by people in authority.

Exactly.  With information now at our fingertips, easy to verify and check for gaps.

Clearly the presentation of the stats pose as a ploy to either confuse or throw red herrings into the equation to confuse.

One real benefit of the Data analytics course that I picked up recently

For sure. But too many people are scolding the government for every single thing. This aside, Singaporeans need to take responsibility for their own action and not just ace at the blame and hate game. It's good to demand for accountability because only with that you get transparency. But the blame and hate is another story for another day.

1 word...TRUST!

From the beginning, the narrative was to follow, and we did.  However, a few of us who are in teh know, felt otherwise.  Damage done.

As much as the had put the right in place, a little humility will go a long way.

And do not mistake, we are still fighting this battle regardless, BUT the direction comes from a lot more sources, as opposed to only ONE.  A good thing that has come out from it, in that we are making our own due diligence instead of just adhering to ONE voice
