I was really looking at a Corolla Cross (before COE went above 124k) but even then, it was too expensive compared to SL7 and J7. Yeah the resale for Toyota will be likely much better, but still not enough to offset all the features missing.

And yes... that thick bezel... woolan eh, hello this is not 2012!

This is what happens when we have a complacent AD, still living off the reputation that Toyota has built for their cars.

It could be TMAP fault being the Importer

It is reserved for ppl who can't convert to EV.

At $243k now, can get Sealion7 with $12k saving or MYJ.

BYD will be launching new Seal 6 EV soon if you like sedan which to compliment the original Seal 2025 facelift.

Toyota SG infotainment just cannot be direct from Japan with 10.1”, how expensive can an LCD display cost…from 8” to 10.1” that few dollars also want to cut away, same goes to driver electronic seats which is available on pre-facelift, yet newer version is missing it. LOL, all the true capitalism in Singapore to milk consumer to the fullest. BM can actually still earn profit just maybe not as much per vehicles sold to bring better spec to SG but nope, profit above all.

IMHO.
The larger infotainment display will cost more because it has more functions.
To change one wing mirror already cost > $4000. 🤣

the latest MG S5 passenger seat is also fully manual. while the driver side is fully electrical power seat.

I believe buying an EV can be reduce to buying white goods..

When u buying EV SUV, / cross over, u typically buying function of the In car system.

The cutting corner of the car can get quite ridiculous.

Rear Drum brakes. 2 buttons for windows with additional switch to toggle between front seat and back seat window. Large reluctance to Have Ovet the Air OTA update for cars. No lumbar support. and the list goes on... yet from a ride sharing prospective, thats the way to go... cheap and cheerful.

Singaporean motto: we are the big fat carrots, pay more for less and we have no choice coz country only red dot on map but still buy. 😂

So I was reading up on these topic of rear drums.

It appears that there is more to it.

In the 1st place, due to the nature of braking, the rear brakes already do only a small fraction of the front brakes load. Now add in the EV nature of the car, _and_ that it is rear drive. The rear brakes should be doing almost no work on normal drives. Having a drum doesnt just save cost, it saves weight and reduces maintenance and reliability issues.

For ppl who wants 2L Hybrid CUV, Honda ZRV is another choice. There are 2 variants, X and Z.

Z is top of the line with Bose sound system. This variant should be around the price of Corolla Cross.

The downside is PI

Please take note there is a recall.

Oh yes, i did mine in Nov as well. Only got to know about it when i sent my car for servicing in October.

Did anyone took up the servicing package? I think its worth it but am still considering it till next servicing in April.

Oh, and i changed my stock rims to an Enkei model (lighter) and tyres too (Falken AT Trail 225/55/18) instead of the usual 225/50. Test it up North and it is stable and smooth. Road noise is acceptable to me too.
