I was there replacing my 525 brake pads and i wrote the words “Throttle was here” on your dusty windscreen when he told me that that was your car. Guess you didnt notice when you collected your car. Muayhahahahahahaha He was probably worried someone stole his throttle body for whatever reason. 😁

davemakesstuff 1st Gear September 25, 2020 Share September 25, 2020 Not being from SG, please forgive my ignorance. How do your rules work for classic cars? If you want to keep a car that is more than 10 years old, what happens?

If you want to keep a car that is more than 10 years old, what happens? You will need to pay GBP25,000 to extend the life of the car, to use for another 10 years. At the 20th year, you continue to pay again to extend the life for another 10 years. You should invite Boris to S'pore to learn a trick or two from this money spinner. 😁 Edited September 25, 2020 by Vinceng 1
Josephthm 1st Gear September 25, 2020 Share September 25, 2020 (edited) Haha, I think Boris will be stoned if he implement that! davemakesstuff 1st Gear September 26, 2020 Share September 26, 2020 I'm guessing that classic cars get sold and / or re-exported from Singapore at roughly ten-year intervals! £2500 a year to own a classic is steep... most of my (non-classic) cars didn't cost that much! But if you really like a car, and its more than 35 years old (e.g. Subaru 360) , you can import one and pay 10% of COE with annual road tax of $280. Only drawback is that you only have 28 days to drive for "free" and you need to pay $20 per day if you want to drive for the other 17 days.

But nobody is forcing you to importing a old porsche if you dont exactly like it. There are often classics with parf of less tham $5000, in which that the ARF is just $5000. Import tax is just RF ($220) and exciss duty is 20% ↡ Advertisement
