How reliable are electric cars in a flood?

manufacturers have to make sure that every single cell of the battery, every single component in the car, every exposed wire, are insulated against water ingress.

flood water that gets in on uninsulated part cause short circuit and anything is possible, including a fire in the middle of a flood.

but then there are who breaks insulation, when you want to install some new fancy-dancy device.

A fully waterproof electric car will cost you a bomb. And it will also shorten the range. As heat will be trapped.
