OMV of CX-60 from LTA webpage.

At this price point, Audi Q5 (204 horsepower version) with more powerful 2.0T, lower road tax and Quattro (vs FWD in CX-60), is a much better choice, not just because of the 4 rings badge.

Only 1 comment from me about the table. The OMV that was officially declared to Singapore customs may NOT necessarily be the price which the distributor buys from the manufacturer. The distributor's actual profit margin per car may also actually be much lower than what we perceived. OMV value declared to Singapore customs is an arbitrary value which both the distributor and importer (usually the manufacturer's head office) agrees on. it is also in the interest of the importer to declare as low as possible, so the importer avoids paying too much GST and custom duties per car. How do I know? Because I have a buddy at a regional office who can see the pricing structure to the local distributor here.  Of course, I am only quoting for one brand. The above pricing structure example varies from brand to brand. 😁

Looking at this tabulation comparison, it is really very hard to justify buying the CX60 over the Q5.

I am aware of the addition cost incurred by ADs for getting their vehicles from the manufacturer / importer, but that is a separate discussion else we will also have to consider overhead, building and maintenance cost, etc.

BTW, ADs also have other sources of income such as commissions from bank (for loan taken by customer), insurance company (motor insurance take up by buyer), routine servicing, parts replacement (this one is the bomb), etc.

To facilitate an apple-to-apple comparison, I have also include the CX-8 Luxury, which is 1 size larger than CX-60, but come with FWD, less efficient 6 speed auto and smaller rims.

Given that both models are unlikely to be volume seller, I cannot understand the rational of having a much higher profit margin for the CX-60, other than trying to make a quick buck from early adopters.

In the sgcarmart review, Eurokars seems to be targeting those buyers who are considering the Lexus NX and Volvo XC60, especially the XC60.

Size wise, both XC60 and CX60 about similar.  Both has 8-speed AT too.

XC60 is more expensive but it has turbo-charged engine, more power, greater torque and has mild hybrid; CX60 doesn't have those and has less brand cachet, so it undercuts on the list price.

Ya, from the looks of it, close to $70k margin on the CX-60 really is thick! 😂
