screening is based on age, think it's 35 before the 1st series of check needed to do IPPT.
30 years old sudden death, neither here nor there kinda age.

I attended one such semester ( about 3 months) at maju as well.

I was away and failed to book the ippt for a few calender years. Straight away they put me into the RT session. A hassle logitics wise traveling but overall a good weekly workout for those who couldn't afford times away from their day jobs.

Such young age with a bright future ahead.

Haiz...no amount of compensation can make up for the lost of a son.

Ya. My rt was at maju also.

To be frank i like those work out.

Its not what alot of ppl imagine. 1 PTI take 100 ppl. Then do exercise go run. Those boring stuff.

Its very professional.  1 PTI to like 20 guys? I think.  Its like going to gym with a trainer training me.

And no stress , do what u can do. Not pressure or scolding.

Think it has to be his personal insurance.... that will cover more. He didn't die inside camp so likely not under Mindef.

Ya. I was thinking the same thing. Although no compensation is enough.

But could his family lost out on some payment because he is already outside.

If Mindef has insurance coverage, the insurer will also look at the clauses and what are exclusions.

For personal insurance, if it's cause of death is due to act of war or similar.... Then I believe the personal accident plan will not pay out. Only life insurance will pay out.

If the person died during military training, it probably fall under such clause.

If the death cert says cause of death was due to myocardial infarction.... also can't relate it directly to training. So it's really how the insurer for Mindef going to reply.

Hopefully it's under NTUC Income that wasn't sold off. Probably still can do something.

Too young to die. RIP

Should be same as RT in the past.

Another case when collapsed suddenly and die at young age, and don’t know what is the real cause.

Life is really fragile nowadays. It could happen to anyone.

Railgun Installed On Japanese Warship Seen In New Photos

The turreted prototype installed on a testbed surface combatant is the latest step forward in Japan's work on railguns, something the U.S. Navy shelved years ago.

japan-railgun-yokosuka.jpg

New pictures have emerged showing work being done on the Japan Self-Defense Forces’ prototype electromagnetic railgun currently installed on the test warship JS Asuka. An at-sea test of the weapon in this configuration is expected to come before the end of the month, if it has not occurred already. Japan’s continued developments in this realm stand in notable contrast to the U.S. Navy’s shelving of its promising pursuit of this category of weapons in the early 2020s after major technical hurdles emerged.

The images of Asuka and its railgun in port in Yokosuka, seen at the top of this story and below, come from @HNlEHupY4Nr6hRM on X who originally posted online. All of the images were taken on June 30. Additional photos of the ship taken recently are also circulating online. Asuka, a 6,200-ton-displacement dedicated testbed with a warship-like design, first emerged with the turreted railgun on its stern flight deck in April.
