I believe a forum is place to ask questions. That's the purpose of this forum and most other places unless I'm sorely mistaken. Especially for those who are not as knowledgable as you.

We won't always need to walk the same line or have the same views, anyway you moderate, we participate.

My point is u can impinge on a trend thread as opposed to just opening one and creating your own and that is consistent with the same band of questions you are asking throughout diff through your journey..

Duly noted on not making new threads when not required.

I hope it doesn't mean we cannot ask questions. Forums will get larger, we study the past responses and sometimes we hope to get direct replies, sometimes we miss the obvious, please be patient sir...

Perhaps it's not the same thing, but I get a variety of questions in my line of work, not all are cutting edge ones, some are less smart, some are repetitive. But that's the nature of life.

Cheers and have a good Christmas

The point is ask, and to your note, I also do my due diligence and only ask KEY questions. Not that I am knowledgeable . Knowledge is gained through research done from all sources.  All else requires due diligence and not engaging the crowd incessantly

have a blessed Christmas to you and your family too🙏🏽

@therock jus becos u changing car does not mean the whole world revolves around you...u start a new COE trend thread for what f?

get real...and your incessant starting of threads just because you changing rides is getting obnoxious...

use this thread if you want to talk trends....

some say go up then come own, some say come down then go up.

think it will either go up, or come down!!! .[laugh][laugh][laugh]

COE questions are the same since 1990 when it first started. When coe was $3-5k in 2009, did any bozo ask any questions? 😁

bottom line is got money to buy now then pay. No money or not willing then wait and see. Who the heck knows how coe will exactly go.

even if some give opinion, will you believe?
I can say with certainty that coe prices will go down. 😁
Might as well ask if buying more Apple stocks will make money or not. Then at least one can reap benefits and buy even more after paying for $120k coe. Coe is what it is. Expensive!!!!

I got a $6000 COE back in 2007 actually then a 55k nine years later and it seems that’s going up once again sadly… but the increase in coe is not meant to make a huge dent

We talked about it at a recent lunch and it was felt that it may dip then pick up when the year end rush comes around again

In 1994, COE hit 110k.

In my mind, that is still the record. Accounting for real buying power (not official inflation/CPI from gahmen), thats like 250k in 2025 dollars. Use gahmen CPI, thats still 170k today.

I honestly don't think COE will drop significantly. One of Govt's aims is to stop the large fluctuation cycle, hence the cut-and-fill.

Looks like $100k plus COE will be the norm.

Of course, but he's just executing what the previous regimes, from Tat Chee Hong to Giftwaran to Khaw Hui Ge, started.

Based on median household income from chatgpt and 110k coe in 1994:

Direct Answer: In Singapore, the median monthly household income from work in 1994 was about SGD 3,000–3,500, while in 2025 it is around SGD 10,700. This reflects more than a threefold increase over three decades, driven by economic growth, rising wages, and dual-income households.

Got room for 300k COE wor.

Of course last time ARF not so harsh. Just thinking how crazy a 110k COE was back then nia.

I want to jinx you guys

I am planning to change car in 2028, earlier if the car is giving more problems

COE paid was $70+ for that car

based on my lifelong suay-ness on COE prices

COE won't get lower than that when I change car
