Not sure about the bmw phev, but do they charge the car while driving?

Current promo is that Jaecoo is offering 10 yr battery warranty and it follows the car, not the driver

@Terence2112 can share how much did you paid for it? 🙏🏻

I am considering this and aion v.

Sure! Got it at the car at expo sale deal at $221,888. Free 1 yr road tax and insurance.

10 yr batt warranty

10 yr engine warranty

10 yr servicing

7 yr vehicle warranty

For these warranties and servicing, there’s a maximum mileage, but unlikely to hit unless doing PhV.

BMW also has warranty for battery. But the term of replacement  is that there has to be a fault code as the other poster mentioned. But he doesn’t have a fault except very much reduced capacity

@Terence2112 thanks for sharing

They quoted me 222888 when I test drove it sometime in April.

No free insurance though.

When is your car delivery date?

Oh I see… maybe that was before the car at expo sale. Did they throw any freebies or something?

I think 3 differences being that (i) e-power doesn't have a battery and therefore (ii) has no EV-only mode at all and (iii) it doesn't really have the EV-like performance. Look at X-Trail specs vs the J7 - not nearly as much combined power not torque. So same same but different.

Think there is a battery and it is also instant torque but can't charge using wall socket. 😀

e-POWER – a unique combination

Nissan’s e-POWER is a unique technology that uses a petrol engine and lithium-ion battery to power the electric motor. The electric motor drives the wheels solely, allowing Nissan e-POWER vehicles to function similarly to an electric vehicle, providing instant response and quietness to its occupants. e-POWER requires no plug-in charging, hence no lifestyle change is needed, just fuel up and go.

@Terence2112 Would like to know if the $221.9k price includes conditions like trade in rebate, financing rebate and insurance rebate?

If I decide to sell my ride to an external 3rd party, insurance with my current provider and get bank financing can I still get the Jaecoo J7 PHEV for $221.9k? I.e. if paid in cash?

I would say no, purely by looking at the price list.
but you can try asking them.

Turbocharged

I test drove it recently. The range is indeed impressive, and I can see its appeal. But I didn't quite like the ride quality. The suspension somehow doesn't seem to absorb bumps that well, and on rough surfaces (like roads that just finished construction and not surfaced well) it was quite uncomfortable.

That said I think many SUVs are like that though. Other than that the car is generally quite good. The overall quality is impressive.

I’m currently driving an EV and been so for a year.

so yes, charging cost is really low and I make it a point to charge at the location with the cheapest tariff. It’s really cheaper.

but I cannot accept the 6 mths road tax. It’s close to 1.1k. But yeah I know about the $700 additional flat component.

Wah you can fight with @RadX in term of changing car.

iirc, you change from Insignia to A5, then i4 and now J7... 偶像!

Good to know. Thanks for sharing.

Im not here to be confrontational or anything ah, pls dun misunderstand.

what I hope to learn is, what’s the USP of PHEV vs a normal hybrid that made you choose it?

cos to my knowledge, a normal hybrid also can operate at pure EV mode up till a certain speed, and its self charging which removes the “inconvenience” of having to plug in to charge and pay fees.

No need explain ur stance la bro… ur one of the nicest ppl I know… 😂

Nissan e-power is similar to BEV with REV, except Nissan e-power does not have a charging port.

With a small battery, Nissan e-power will constantly need engine running to charge.

Ok my bad cos nowhere in Nissan specs (in sgcarmart) does it mention that there is a battery, what time and what capacity.
