Don't understand why the Chinese designers like taxi. Maybe secretly want to be taxi driver.

Cameras for rear view mirrors - hope it gets passed LTA.

The Avatr 07 should be the less expensive version of the Avatr 11. Premium Auto will still extract their low triple digit margin based on OMV on the Avatr 07.   The only consolation is - better than the mid triple digit margin on Avatr 11.

Here are the current list of Chinese EV brands in Singapore:

  1. Aion* (grouped under GAC)
  2. BYD
  3. Deepal
  4. Denza (grouped under BYD, like Lexus is under Toyota)
  5. Dongfeng
  6. Jaecoo (grouped under Chery)
  7. M.G.
  8. Maxus
  9. Neta (ceased operation)
  10. Omoda (grouped under Chery)
  11. Ora (grouped under Great Wall Motor)
  12. Seres
  13. Skyworth
  14. Xpeng
  15. Zeekr

* Include Hyptech, which is a standalone premium EV brand by Aion elsewhere

Coming Soon:

  1. Avatr (Premium Automobiles, July / Aug 2025)
  2. IM (Eurokars Group, 2H 2025, will be grouped under M.G.)
  3. JMEV (Valor Auto, 2H 2025)
  4. Leapmotor (Cycle and Carriage, end 2025)
  5. Yangwang (T.B.C., will be grouped under BYD)

For those interested, Avatr is a joint venture between Changan and CATL. In this JV, the state-owned automaker (Changan) owns 40%, and the world’s biggest battery manufacturer holds over 17%. The rest belongs to local investment funds. Huawei is also a part of Avatr project, but it isn’t a shareholder. Instead, Huawei acts as the key parts supplier, just like Bosch relationship with Audi, BMW, Mercedes, etc. Worth noting that Avatr was initially launched in 2018 as a joint project between Changan and Nio. But later Nio distanced from the JV.

@Hamburger I know right, the steering design pass your initial assessment...

Sifu....u forgot this joke called Proton w the rebadged geely

The problem with so many brands is that everyone is fighting for the same COE pie which is not growing in any significant numbers, yet there is no economies of scale in either supply of the vehicles or spare parts. Unlike PHV stalwarts like Mazda 3, Honda Vezel or Toyota Prius where parts are plentiful, good luck if your Chinese EV has an accident and needs new body panels!
