Ake109 6th Gear September 24, 2025 Share September 24, 2025 I still think COE should not be $ based bidding. Base it on %. You bid 205% or 309% etc. Your COE is now a % number. Apply it to OMV to get QP. Dont even need Cat A and B anymore. This way, maybe we see some sensible Kei cars instead of all voluminous SUV/MPV. Jp66 5th Gear September 24, 2025 Share September 24, 2025 Since the objective is to collect more revenue to benefit all Singaporeans, I strongly urge LTA to make a minor tweak on the bidding system, you pay what you bid instead of the lowest QP. Forgo 2 months. Basically if u value each month of COE left as around 850-1000/month, then any increase above that, it would make sense to give up that 2-3 months. This is based on current COE price. But if you based it on your original COE price, then giving up that few hundred/mo that you paid extra for and didn't get to enjoy. Decreasing your overall ownership duration by that 2-3 months over 20 years is pretty negligible based on this current trend. It's a no brainer that november PQP is going to be even higher.
