SHU 5W40 is rated MB229.3. If you like long drains up to 15k km, get it. If you use 10k OCIs, a bit of a waste. RP can go as far as 12k km. Your call.

Just sent my optra for 1K servicing and it cost only S$42.53

Mobil Mineral

Washer

Filter

Botak, from your post, it seems taht for 5 k and 10 k interval, you're using the same Mobil Super-S. care to explain. I thought mineral oil sould be changed every 5 k while synthetic every 10k.

Chevy Broz, care to advise how much did you spent on your 20K servicing? confused.gif

It was supposed to be @ S$ 192.60 based on the service calendar printed during purchase of vehicle.

Just learnt from SA that they had recently revised to S$262.?? for 20K servicing.

In addition, rotation of tyre @ S$ 30.00 and changing of some stuff about the air-conditional another S$ 150.00+

Note on one of those pages in the service handbook, if you choose not to change that air-condition stuff, SA had right to void warranty of your air-con system. (after furious.gif at the SA service center, was later advise that they will not void air-condition warranty should you choose not to do the change VERBALLY)

Estimated with G.S.T. to be approximately S$ 450++++knife.gif

BTW, Full Syn Oil at S$ 84.00. Should I make my own purchase outside?bigcry.gif

No, I had decided to pend my 20K serivce at this point of time.whip.gif

Actually, you can ask them not to change the wipers and pass the new wipers to you. You can then keep it and change when you feel the originals starts to kaput.

That is what I did during my 20,000km for my Nissan Primera P12.

They are original Nissan wipers, worth at least S$28 if you have to buy from the stockists.

Actually, TC's svc cost is OK, have you look at BM, KM and C&C's svc cost? jawdrop.gif

So ? You got a problem with that ? GM Parts or Toyota Parts, as long as it good, cheap and affordable, who's complaining ?

GM parts are plentiful because the platform for most of the GM cars are shared which explains the "boringness" of GM. I see VAG cars going the same way too. Economy of scale. You can't get cheap and affordable AND quality if you don't have economy of scale.

With this, I think Opel owners will take advantage of the $4.50 oil filter from Chevies.
