once they start having roof rack, all future ones will have roof rack. Be original and join the bald club. we want sedan refinement with space but not another tray on the roof unless you want to pack a surf board or 2 bicycle on top, else, get the car already.

If they can have fog lights as standard, that means your wiring harness they should also be able to order already. Wonder how much for it. Will ask SE next week when I get my car.

last told was order has been placed, but have not arrived. The bumper lobang for the fog light suppose to be the same as the sedan. actually, i think a lot of thing is the same since open hood, both car look identical, prolly the harness also, but I guess its just their lousy excuses to do less job as the procedure or manual for the car is not here. besides, i think they alreaedy hands full with all the fuel guage problem.

This fuel guage thing may not be all SA fault. I am sure some people got a car with good guages. like chevro, his is ok. But work wise, think they will sup normal servicing out to em petrol station if the workshop cannot handle the load anymore. But I am very sure anyone who bother to get in to physically drive the optra, and if he has been on japanese for a while, very likely chevy car will become a prime consideration due to a refreshing ride quality. of course, running cost, peers influence and pressure that korean car cannot make it may be wat turn them to the bright side once again and help boneo put another car on the streets

 

Anyway, Heres Latest Optra Station Wagon Fuel consumption report

 

On ROn 98 Shell, mileage 1.7k km.

due to fuel guage under 1/2 tank showing 318 km, go pump, end up only 28L goes in.

 

Consumption 11.35km/L

 

A mark improvement over the last round on 95 almost by a km/l.

Roof rack is a standard for Hyundai Matrix, Toyota Picnic and Renault Tourer. So i guess StarAuto is yet to include roof rack as standard (as well as fog lamps and leather seats). If it costed $800 for a roof rack, it is not worth it then. Maybe owner can spend the money on rear mirror or rear spoiler to enhance the look.

 

Hope the dealer can improve their marketing freebies like Hyundai, Kia and Nissan, then Chevrolet owner-to-be can benefit...hee hee

so you selected and ordered your car already ? I feel no roof rack nicer. unless there is a specified need for it, then go for the rack. coz i guess tons of owner with cars with roofrack never mount anything on it prolly for as long as they own the car. The additional mounting either for surf board, bicycle, extra boat storage all quite hefty priced. unless that sporting, else its no more than a deco. dun let that be a part of the consideration and reject the optra wagon, it is realy a nice car.

I would say roof rack is a deco more than utilization. I will install only if come for free. But still think that produce drag, not nice for wagon, which already push engine to limit for this heavy body, especially when air con is fully on.

1 km per litre more will translate to about 60 km for 60L tank. That amount to about about 5.+ litre x 1.6+ for 98 which give about 8 to 9 dolla of savings. Suddenly I realise every 1 more km can mean quite a bit difference. alternative if say 95.

 

Let say 98 is $1.60 x 60 = 96 but travel eg 660km per dolla yield 6.875 km

 

95 is $1.50 x 60 = 90 but travel 600km. per dolla yield 6.66 km

 

I say, 98 All the way. Now is to aim for a 12km/l.

That is a good comparson. USing 98 is cheaper than 95. Also car got more power and faster. That is wonderful.

Just wondering could it be that your engine is getting better after breaking in so you see the better FC.

Maybe you might get same FC now with 95 RON.

 

Thought engine should determine which RON to use. If engine can use 95 then there should not be any performance gain with 98 or higher.

I feel that everytime you step pedal, that much amount of fuel will flow in as there are that much amount of air. we all can agree that 98 gives more power. The optra wagon is very obvious that it will not be able to keep up with a smooth traffic if you want to do a 2k transmission. Its manual that means it gives a lot of control to the drivers and prolly the reason why they even dare to sell it as a 1.6. if your car has power, you dun need to step so hard, you also won't need to drag as long to reach a desire rpm. over times, I guess it does improve fuel consumption. Anyway, I am still on the la sap engine oil and car is still under 2k. I won;t consider it run in already, but I guess fuel does play a part. Of course, if you got more power, you drive faster at the same rate of pedal works, then I dun think FC will improved, but you do move faster.

- REAR MIRROR

- REAR SPOILER

If only they shift the handbrake to the driver's side and also come with the center console armrest that would be most ideal. Roof rack not really necessary.

Just collected my wagon today. Or estate as they now call it.

Have not drove it home yet. Still at Ubi getting Vkooled.

Just found out the windscreen already tinted to 75% VLT, so could not use VK75 on the front. The rest tinted to 70% VLT. So installing J83 in front and VK40 rear.

 

Have not driven it enough to find any defects.

Only had problem with the central locking.

Had to stand less then 2m from the car before it worked and the light indicator at the front door knob could not be seen.

Had them rectified so now ok.

 

Will be sending for leather fitting and panel printing tomorrow.

Anyone has any other non obvious defects to check for?

there is a purpose for the handbrake to position on the pessenger side. Imagine this, your sitting there, then u can have the perfect excuse to put ur hand over near her side. As for armrest, it may hinder the movement of the gear throw (since its very long anyway).
