Hi guys. I need some advice. My car is at 980km now. I was away overseas for work and now my warranty workshop will be closed till 15th Feb. My guess is that I will hit 1500km before i get to go over for my 1000km servicing. Is this ok? Else, what do you suggest i do? Need to keep in mind that warranty will void if i bring it elsewhere. Thanks in advance. :)

I know PI workshop gives up to 1500KM  for the 1st oil change.

1,000KM oil change and oil filter change is not cast in stone. It is just a guideline.

At 1500KM it should not affect your warranty, as long as you don't ram your engine.

The oil and oil filter change cost about $75 only. - Its  a 30 minutes job.

So dont have to go to PI workshop if you dont have the time.

When you hit 1500km. then go to PI workshop and they dont have to know that you have gone to others to change oil / filter already.

They will treat it as the first oil / filter change.  What they want is that you have a record of regular servicing with them.

How can harrier be better when its technical spec is inferior to hybrid vezel?

Comparing Vezel Hybrid & Harrier ;

You are paying 100% in ARF and get back 50% (PARF) after 10 years.

COE drop apply to both.

Assuming Harrier Grand cheapest selling at 128k & Vezel Hybrid X cheapest selling at 95k

Harrier you should get back 14k based on 28k ARF ( No CEVS Rebate ) and Vezel Hybrid X get back 2.5k

Difference : 14k - 2.5k = 11.5k

Harrier Grand - 128k - 14k = 114k

Vezel Hybrid X - 95k - 2.5k = 92.5k

Difference : 114k - 92.5k = 21.5k

21.5k extra for Harrier Grand.

Wait for harrier to reach 100k in 2 months time

I am one of the "dumb" guys who bought HRV from KM :)

My decision was based on:

Part 1

Selling price difference ($12k); was quoted 111-112k for Vezel and 123k for HRV LX Premium

Scrap Value difference ($7k).  HRV $11k+ versus Vezel $4k+

Subtotal of Part 1 is $5k in favour of Vezel.

Part 2

KM offers 3 years parts and service free.  I guess it is worth at least $3000 for me since i will average 80k km in 3 years

Loan saving at KM versus PI should be (0.4%*60k*5yrs)= $1200.  In my case KM allowed me not to take any loan versus some horrendous interest rate I heard from PI (in my calculation, I use 1.88% for KM and 2.28% for PI)

Insurance and road tax subsidy by KM: $300 + $400 (I assume PI gives 6 mth free. KM gives first year free) = $700

Subtotal of Part 2 is $4.9k in favour of HRV

Total of Part 1 and 2: $100 in favour of Vezel.

Other consideration:

1. HRV older engine

2. HRV 17" rim and tire (actually not important to me)

3. The model I bought has paddle shift but doubt i will use it.....

4. Vezel better LED interior and ECON model etc etc

5. KM service center is just 10 mins drive from my place....

Above is just for info and another angle from a "dumb" guy who bought the HRV from KM.  In my case, I probably paid 1-2k more since I may not take any loan (maybe even 4-5k more if can Vezel at 107k)......In any case, KM got my COE at 57k+

Now that CAT B is $8K lower than CAT A, Vezel Hybrid is ~$20K cheaper than HRV. Vezel Hybrid is faster (0-100km/h in 8s), more economical (20km/L fuel consumption) and has a better interior and gearbox (7-speed dct). The choice is now obvious and there is absolutely no contest.

Yes, he is correct but the recall ended some time ago (I think in 2014), so those who bought after that had no problems. Anyway, the Vezel Hybrid has been around for some time now. Buyers have not reported any problems so I think it should be quite safe to purchase.

Mind sharing which PI for Vezel Hybrid at $95K? X or Z specs?

PM me if not convenient to post.

Thanks.

Good choice

Hybrid 0-100km/h in 8s, 20km/L fuel consumption, 7 speed dual clutch, nicer interior and better sound insulation

At $95K, it's the best value for money in my opinion
