BenjaminTay_83149 1st Gear September 2, 2015 Share September 2, 2015 hi mazda 5 users. did anyone make change to the exhaust muffler? mine kept hitting the rear kerb whenever i parked. not all the time though. can be annoying. i was thinking of moving it higher and closer to the body or a better rear sensor to detect it whenever it is close to the kerb. this is a design problem i think. I used to have this problem with my previous ride at my parents' HDB carpark as the exhaust muffler was at a downward angle. Now with the M5 it is no longer an issue unless the car is fully loaded. Maybe your kerb is higher than usual or the ground is sloping backwards, in which case you could either park head first (and risk scraping your front lip) or give a bit more allowance when reversing in.
