terminator2015 1st Gear November 6, 2015 Share November 6, 2015 Hi Terminator 2015 Is it true then that hrv cruise control is not limited at 110kph? If yes, then this is a plus for hrv when travel on nshw cos it seems vezel's cruise is limited to 110 kph and not sure if this limit can be removed. I am not sure as I haven't collect the car. At my time of booking, most cars are available only in Dec/Jan, with some In Feb. ↡ Advertisement

Leoleosh Clutched November 7, 2015 Share November 7, 2015 My Cur arrived at Pasir Panjang on monday 2th November. Still awaiting custom clearance. Was hoping I can get it his week but that won't happen. Anyway, I have documented my journey on self import Vezel S so far so for the ones that are interested they can refer to this doc. Also for the people that buy from PI it gives a good insight in what is going on at every stage. Any comments on improvements welcome. Will be continued after receive car. nice detailed docs for sharing, ... just wondering how the japan counterpart come out with CIF of JPY 1,710.000, while the invoice to you is more than JPY 2,400.000... did they under declared? Gt5454 1st Gear November 7, 2015 Share November 7, 2015 Seems that PI bank loan interest is about 2.28% whereas AD bank loan is at 1.88%. May I know why is there a difference since both are bank loan? Is this part of the "hidden cost" incurred when buying from PI? If yes, can anyone share what other hidden cost are there usually when buying from PI? Thanks in advance.

rstopel 1st Gear November 7, 2015 Share November 7, 2015 nice detailed docs for sharing, ... just wondering how the japan counterpart come out with CIF of JPY 1,710.000, while the invoice to you is more than JPY 2,400.000... did they under declared? Hi, The 1,710,000 cif value follows more or less the valuation of car set by customs. Now customs want to value my car at JPY1,786,000. The JPY2,4M figure is the dealer price I paid. I think it no individual or Pi can buy at JPY1,8M as Honda website in Japan sells at about 2,4M. This whole Parallel biz is not something Honda encourages as they have a dealer network in each country so the last thing they want is dealers undercutting eachother. Anyway, Heard that prices for vezel going up now slightly as cars have to go through more hands now to get exported as Honda is clamping down to protect internal demand. But if I were to buy 10 piece in 1 go I think price will be reduced 5-10% but guessing only.
macrosszero Turbocharged November 7, 2015 Share November 7, 2015 I have encountered too many PIs that tried to jerk me around with loan terms, COE bid prices/number of bids/time spans, and delivery dates to steer clear of them unless they had actual stock in hand. Granted, many people have had smooth deals with PIs, but the pitfalls are there for the unwary shopper. I looked at the Vezel in detail, and actually test-drove the HRV. I would get the HRV over the Vezel. The difference in quality between MIJ and MIT is imperceptible to me. If anything, the HRV's head unit is better integrated to the car than the aftermarket head units that PIs typically fit on the car. I did not drive the Vezel as there are no test drive units, so I cannot speak for the difference in engines and the 11hp deficit that the HRV has on paper. Toyota's current crop of MIT cars don't suffer much for being MIT - ultimately, they have built a reputation of being as reliable and efficient as their parallel-imported brethren. Nlatio Turbocharged November 7, 2015 Share November 7, 2015 Thanks bro. So there is no disadvantage in this aspect when buying from PI ? If u buying from Kah Motor, u gotto enjoy 1.88%... but then their selling price are higher.... so got to caculate to check... then again, Kah Motor don't sell Vezel.... so... haaa
lausai88 Hypersonic November 8, 2015 Share November 8, 2015 I am also the dumb guy, my HRV Lx premium cost $121K. I got the coe at $56k.and HRV coming in dec. yours same shipment? I think we should use the paddle shifters to overcome the shortcomings of CVT: CVTs work best when mated to engines that produce more torque down low and in a wider band across their operating range. Compared with the HR-V’s tranny, the CVT in the turbocharged Juke, which receives 177 pound-feet of torque between 1600 and 5200 rpm, is a paragon of dignified athleticism. Fortunately, Honda does supply a workaround in the form of optional paddle shifters that cue transmission software with seven virtual forward gears. With the shifter in “S” and using the paddles, it’s possible to pretend that the HR-V doesn’t have a CVT at all. The shifts are quick if not firm, and the engine even develops a slight induction lilt that can be engaging. I am one of the "dumb" guys who bought HRV from KM :) My decision was based on: Part 1 Selling price difference ($12k); was quoted 111-112k for Vezel and 123k for HRV LX Premium Scrap Value difference ($7k). HRV $11k+ versus Vezel $4k+ Subtotal of Part 1 is $5k in favour of Vezel. Part 2 KM offers 3 years parts and service free. I guess it is worth at least $3000 for me since i will average 80k km in 3 years Loan saving at KM versus PI should be (0.4%*60k*5yrs)= $1200. In my case KM allowed me not to take any loan versus some horrendous interest rate I heard from PI (in my calculation, I use 1.88% for KM and 2.28% for PI) Insurance and road tax subsidy by KM: $300 + $400 (I assume PI gives 6 mth free. KM gives first year free) = $700 Subtotal of Part 2 is $4.9k in favour of HRV Total of Part 1 and 2: $100 in favour of Vezel. Other consideration: 1. HRV older engine 2. HRV 17" rim and tire (actually not important to me) 3. The model I bought has paddle shift but doubt i will use it..... 4. Vezel better LED interior and ECON model etc etc 5. KM service center is just 10 mins drive from my place.... Above is just for info and another angle from a "dumb" guy who bought the HRV from KM. In my case, I probably paid 1-2k more since I may not take any loan (maybe even 4-5k more if can Vezel at 107k)......In any case, KM got my COE at 57k+
