Any idea roughly when will the SKZ....(not by bidding) start? ty

I plotted a graph based on the numbers consumed over October 2015

You might want to look at my previous post on

02 November 2015 - 08:24 PM in Honda Vezel - Part 1

It is slightly off now but seems like SKZ102 onwards should start from 1st January 2016

Just an estimate...

Vezel hybrid should not be undriveable when its battery is dead/flat. In Vezel Hybrid, there is an extra battery that serves as the IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) energy source, which powers a motor that delivers instantaneous torque to support the engine's output.

The battery in question is charged by the main gasoline engine like a normal car, when it is low on charge. What I'm not sure of is whether the battery is also used to start the car or supply electrical power to other systems, or if there is in fact a regular battery serving those purposes. You might be able to jump start the car the normal way if that is the case.

Hybrid's torque is definitely much more than the gasoline only version. Electric motors in hybrids provide instantaneous maximum torque - they can produce their maximum output without having to rev up - which greatly improves driveability and 'zippiness'.

Quote from Wiki Integrated Motor Assist (IMA)

Additionally, vehicles equipped with IMA can shut off their engine when the vehicle stops and use the electric motor to rapidly spin it back up when the driver releases the brake pedal. They also have a conventional starter as a backup, making it the only production hybrid system which can operate with its high voltage electric system disabled, using only its engine like a traditional vehicle. However, since the IMA also acts as the vehicle'alternator, eventually the 12 volt accessory battery would require an external charge.

To summarise: IMA battery dead or flat still can work as a traditional vehicle but as it's the vehicle's alternator, the conventional battery will need IMA to charge it...

Saw a good video on how the hybrid works to share with all.

anyone saw or is an owner of an OPC vezel?  Thinking of trading my opc avante for a brand new opc vezel... does anyone noe roughly wat will b the cost like?

So far nope. OPC cars are less desired when COE price are high.

Imaging if COE is low, but rebate $17k, the % of rebate is very high, But not when COE is high.

So most ppl would rather go for normal when coe is high.

However some drivers really only need to drive during off peak period, therefore it makes sense for them to save from the rebate & road tax.

They aren't able to do so. Maybe the Mazda can't adjust any parameters unlike the VW, Audi etc

Mazda due to the high compression Sky Active Engine might not be so tunable compare to some other marques, but it will depend on what you want to 'tune".

I will be sending in my car to fix up the BBK from Knight Sports and at the same time will get them to download my map and see what is "tunable".

DCB - have you already spoke to them regarding tuning your ride?

i beg to differ on "features"

comparing X model vs Mazda 3 Deluxe,

i think mazda 3 has more features (lesser airbag and no automatic brake, but with sunroof, HUD, headlight washer, factory fitted day time running light, i-eloop, built in bluetooth+GPS+customisation of vehicle functions like lights, autolock, signal sound -yes you can lower the sound of your signal , factory fitted reverse camera, steering control for phone, auto-read of SMS - once sycn to ur hp it read out your SMS, command controller, indictor showing amt of fuel saved by using stop-start and Auto boot release button on your remote key...etc etc etc....

:)

agree with the rest...

This is how I access it :

1) Essential Features (Things could possibly save your life when you really need it & can't do it after market ):

  • Airbags - Vezel 2/4 additional side airbags

2) Fuel Saving Features (Vezel still have better fuel saving even 1 feature lesser):

  • iStop / Engine Start Stop - Both Have
  • iEloop - Mazda only

3) Good to have features

  • Day time running time - Both Have
  • Autolock - Both have
  • Auto Boot Release - Mazda
  • Seat : Long ,Tall & Utility Mode - Vezel

4) HU & Reverse Sensor

  • Standard : Bluetooh , Reverse Cam , DVD Player , USB
  • Depending Head Unit in Vezel : steering control , GPS , SMS read out
  • Reverse sensor : 2 / 4 depend on PI
  • Front Sensor : very rare also depend on PI

5) Nice / subjective to have

  • Sunroof - Mazda only
  • Power Seat - Mazda only
  • Headlight washer

The reason I classify sunroof and power seat as nice or subjective to have because it isn't critical in daily function and replacement or service cost is high even you don't use it often.

As for Vezel the HUD compartment either upgrade on your own or nego with PI to get the most feature pack HU

I got one that came with the car. You mean the gray cover to cover your entire car right? Got Vezel wording on it also. Brand new. Don't think I will use it.

Is it part of the equipment?

Does it come with all new vezels?

If you dont need it and i do, will you sell it to me?

How much ?

Oh...this is easy, just install a module will do. Most of the I.C.E. shop should be able to do it.
