  3. Get rid of obscure, irrelevant rules 19 Nov 2011 Straits Times RECENTLY, I asked my lawyer if it was necessary for me to hand over the original title deed on the sale of a property. As the property was bought many years ago, and the mortgage loan settled, I could not find the deed. I must apply for a replacement which entails an advertisement in a local paper and a statutory declaration to the Singapore Land Authority for a new title certificate. Singapore has a registry of titles and parties with interest in the property need to lodge a caveat. Why is an advertisement, which adds cost, delay and additional work, and is probably a waste of resources, necessary? I understand that the need to place an advertisement applies to the loss of other types of important documents as well. The Law Ministry should update the law to remove this outdated and wasteful practice. If there is really a need to advertise to the world at large on the loss of documents, perhaps it can be done through a website sanctioned by the Government. Tan Kin Lian

  5. Last night 7:00pm, I saw a Mazda 6 parked at my HDB car park, forgot to turn off headlight , until today morning about 8:00am, the headlight still was on, but quite weak light.... is any harmful for battery?
  6. Sigh. Failed to help my mum monitor her car. Now she's clocking 12000+km since the last service. sigh. It's so hard to monitor another car when I'm not driving it myself.... And the worse is....I've run out of my mobil1 stock. Last time I bought so many of them when it was selling at $49.90 at carrefour. Now, I think it's $89 or so.... Damm me. I just used the last bottle of Mobil1 myself last week. I would have given it to her and used some other lesser known brands myself. Coz she only believes in common brands she sees everyday ie mobil, esso, shell, bp.....(except spc...for some reasons I don't know). I would have then bought some cheapo synthetic oil and used it for my car. omg. I've sinned. I felt so guilty. Looks like tomorrow, I'll have to go and buy the $89.90 Mobil1 from carrefour. Now, it's already 2000+ km overdued for servicing, I cannot wait anymore for any promotion....
  7. Ayahz.... was wondering what we missed for this outing.... then realised... we forgot to take photo......
