  1. I like to give away my working Garmin Nuvi GPS. Self collect at Woodland area.
  2. Garmin has released the new Nuvi 2567LM. I'm currently using Nuvi 2565, planning to get another GPS as a backup, but can't decide between Nuvi 2565 or 2567? Here are the pro and cons for the above two models Nuvi 2565LM Pro ---- - Can share the car suction mount cradle holder with my older Nuvi 2565LM, ie. got spare cradle as a backup incase the other cradle breaks. Con ----- - Not Sure. Nuvi 2567LM Pro ---- - Got this "Up Ahead" feature. Up Ahead is a constant stream of nearby services information – including restaurants, stores, hospitals and fuel stations – that appears alongside your map and updates as you move along your route. May be a good feature to have. - Smartphone Link on weather forcast but don't think this feature is important for me because can easily get the same info from our phone. Con ---- - can't share the suction cradle with Nuvi 2565, so no spare cradle for backup.
  3. Planning to use my Garmin Nuvi 2565 for a road trip, but ......this the 2nd time my Garmin Nuvi 2565 crashed, the Garmin map disappear from the screen, but when I removed from the cradle, the map reappear again. I even upgraded to the latest firmware and also did the factory reset (ie. hold on to the bottom right corner while power up the GPS), but after a few weeks later, the map disappear again, but when I removed from the cradle, the map reappear again. Why is that so????? My map version are: - 2013:20 Malfree, - 2013:20 Malsing, -2013:20 Navteq Garmin SG website confirmed these are the latest maps when I connected my PC to my GPS for update, but even when I select different maps, I still get blank map. When I remove the GPS from the cradle, the maps reappear again. When I mount it back to the cradle, the map appear for a few weeks then it disappear again. The software version: 7.20 (same version as Garmin SG website, in fact I updated the software more than twice already) Is there a problem with Garmin 2565?
  4. I am looking at this particular model with Bluetooth. Anyone can enlighten me on the Bluetooth features below? 1) When receiving an incoming call from a contact, does it display Number or Name?2) Is the device capable of extracting contact from my iPhone?
  5. Hi. I am thinking of buying this basic GPS. Can anyone tell me if this is good - GPS lock on fast? Accurate? Where is the best place to get it? I have this Holux gps and it takes forever to get a satellite lock on - more than 20mins!!! Thanks in advanced!
  6. Just got a Garmin 1350. Have tried all the settings and couldn't have the lane view displayed (i.e. whether am I driving on lane 1, 2 or 3). I remembered there is lane view displayed on previously borrowed Nuvi 250W. Not particularly impressed with its user friendliness. Took quite some time to figure out even the search function.
  7. Was wondering can you guys search Malaysia's postcode? I can only search Singapore postal but not malaysia although i changed my country to Malaysia. Is there anyway i can do it? I tried searching "Jalan Sulam" & "Jalan Dato Sulaiman" or Taman Sentosa.. all cannot be found.
  8. Hi, Contemplating getting either the Garmin Nuvi 1350 or the Garmin Nuvi 255W. Anyone with prior experience with either of the aforementioned models? I could use some feedback. I read up the specs and features, it's more or less similar. Thanks!

  12. Hi, I'm considering between the Garmin Nuvi 205W and the 250W to replace my WM Pocket PC GPS unit. I understand that the main differences between the two are: 205W Weight - 147.42 g (Lighter) Batt Life - 4hrs (Shorter Batt Life) Waypoints - 1000 FM traffic compatible - Yes Where Am I? - Yes Photo navigation - Yes Choose keyboard layout - Yes 250W Weight - 172.93 g (Heavier) Batt Life - 5hrs (Longer Batt Life) Waypoints - 500 FM traffic compatible - No Where Am I? - No Photo navigation - No Choose keyboard layout - No By looking at the comparison data gotten from the Garmin website, it seems that the 205W is a better GPS device, am I correct? Are there any other differences between the two units other than what's stated in the Garmin website? Which would be a better option of a GPS unit? I have been using GPS via my WM Pocket PC + Bluetooth GPS Receiver and Mapking but I cannot search via postal codes. My WM Pocket PC also hangs often and runs out of battery REALLY fast. Will the Garmin 205W/250W GPS allow me to search postal codes? Are there any more advantages which the Garmin 205W/250W GPS has against these WM Pocket PC GPS combos? Pardon me for all these noob qns as I have very little knowledge on GPS devices. Are there any Garmin GPS expert bros/sis can enlighten me? Thanks, Ed

  14. Noticed there has always been garmin nuvi gps on sale, usually only used for a while the idea of getting a new one crossed my mind certain times before, but upon seeing this trend of 2nd-sales of newly bought sets, can't help but wonder if there is an underlying reason for this. Anyone would like to comment?
  15. Hi folks. I went to Sim Lim Square today to get a hard drive and walked past Perfect Watch and Electronics on the ground floor. Made a huge mistake by walking in and ended up with a new GPS. I already have a Garmin C320 (as seen here: http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/interior-sect...html#post107675 ) but when I saw the wide 4.3" screen of the Nuvi 610, I just couldn't resist it. So I ended up with it. I apologise for the camera phone quality pictures. Now to the unveiling. The box Map details Ohhh... What's this? Stuff in the box I took them out and laid them out on my couch. Clockwise: Nuvi 610, carrying pouch, literature and CD ROM, USB cable, dash mount, windscreen mount, cigarette lighter charger, AC charger and adaptor Peel off the screen protector Turn it on Tells me what to do The main menu The travel kit menus Very nice MP3 interface Address search menu System Menu Installation pics coming soon. 19. Hi folks. Seeing that my original Garmin Nuvi 610 thread has gone on for so long that I've already gotten a new car, here's a new one on the install of the same set on my new car. Actually I've been wanting to hardwire my Nuvi to my new car for quite some time already, but never did find the time to do so. Today at 7+am, while I was deep in dream land, I heard "kok kok kok kok". I got yanked away from dream land and woke up to see my clothes rack rocking from side to side. It actually took quite a while to register that I was experiencing an earthquake! It was freaking scary to see my whole room shaking from side to side pretty violently. I quickly got dressed and rushed downstairs just in case my building collapsed on me. Everyone had the same thoughts as me and was downstairs in the open too. Walked to my car, noticed cat hair all over my hood. Damn, should've brought down my lint remover. After 15 mins, the shaking seems to have stopped and I went back upstairs to check if there were any cracks on my walls. Nada. So early in the morning with not much to, so I thought to myself "I think I can do my GPS today..." So the earthquake caused my GPS to be hardwired... Here goes: Views of the Nuvi with the swivel mount attached: I used to use the suction mount, but in our tropical weather, it keeps falling off, so I bought a friction mount instead: In order to retain the power cable in it's original state (without cutting and modification), I got a male to female cigarette lighter adaptor. The power/charging cable. Soldering wires to the male-female adaptor Soldered Getting ready for surgery Surgery begins Fused Grounded Making sure the length of the cable is just right Tidying up the wires Reassembling the plastic bits I took the opportunity to shift my ERP unit downwards as the original position was very distracting being quite high up on the windscreen And it's done! I did it at Chuan Hifi at the junction of Upper Serangoon Road and Braddell Road. Total cost is $25. Total time taken is 1 hour. Fantastic! .
  20. Hi, anyone have their Garmin nuvi GPS working perfectly (without external antenae or other extras) while in car with vcool film? Will reception be better if I put the Nuvi close to my IU, because for vcool, they cut a small hole for the car IU reception. I am going to install vcool, so wondering if I should get them to cut a small hole for my Nuvi too.
