Was clearing my storeroom and found that I have 2 pieces of RH wing mirrors (in classic Red), and a set of original shifter set (for stick-shift), complete with bushings and hardware. Anymore Sephia/Mentor/Spectra owners needing the parts? The wing mirrors should fit the Sephia/Mentor, the ones on the Spectra is more "rectangular". Might fit, but will be lobsided. The shifter should be compatible to all Sephia/Mentor & Spectra too. Just leave me a PM, giving them away. Offer till end of May 09 only!

The company also said it was comfortable with the level of safety the Spectra provides. "Occupant safety is a priority for Kia," the company said in a statement. I rented a 2002 Spectra saloon 1.6A over 4 days, and managed only between 8.5 - 9km/l, using Mobil 92RON (min RON required is 91RON) RPM was kept below 3000rpm, 70/30 highway/city driving. The car's mileage was 42,600km, and was last serviced at 38,000km. Is such high fuel consumption normal for the Kia Spectra? And I found the acceleration for its 16 valve Mazda engine rather sluggish & engine note very coarse too, compared to my 11 yr old Vitara 1.6A, 8 valve, 3 speed auto. No offence to Spectra owners, but your views are appreciated.

I'm looking at possibility of buying a Kia Spectra. I'm attracted by the fact that it's the lowest downpayment required for a new car. Can experience Kia owners share their thoughts? I heard of ppl saying that after 3 yrs, problems will surface for the new car. Can anyone verify on this? Wat's the pros and cons?

I m owning a kia spectra. The fuel consumption sometime 8km/l and sometime can able to hit 9km/l. I find that the car performence is not constant as sometime it pick up speed is very slow... Can someone tell me any way to increase my car power and in the same time help to save fuel. thanks.

Just want to share with all members here, KIA is coming up a new KIA Spectra or they will called it Cerato instead of Spectra. Hi folks, I am a first time owner and therefore looking for a budget car. There are not many and Kia Spectra happens to be one of the few to fall into my category. What do you think of this car? I know there are a few threads on Kia Spectra that I have went through but still would like some comments if you do not find it too troublesome. 1. I know that Kia cars' fuel consumption are pretty high compared to other vehicles in the same class of 1.6L cars. How true or wrong am I? I read in the other threads, there is one who quote 8/9L per km, another quoted 10/11L per km. I asked a friend who drives a 1.5L Honda Civic, she's an insurance agent who drives around alot and her monthly petrol consumption accumulates to about $400. How can we do a comparison with these two cars? 2. Kia cars' repairwork easily done in Singapore? 3. Should the fuel consumption be a little higher, what parts can be used to regulate the fuel consumption with minimum effect on the overall output? I also read about the air filter which may cut down on fuel consumption. How does this works? I was told there are equipments like fuel injection regulators, how do all these works then? How significant does it cut down on petrol consumption without affecting too much power or increasing the power of the car? 4. Kia cars' engine are generally noiser? 5. For a first time owner, is this a suitable car for a new driver? I know cars like Toyota Soluna or Honda Civic comes with very basic specs which makes things very easy for new drivers. I know there are hidden costs involved as I have read and advices from friends over past one year and not forgetting my driving instructor. So spare me on the costs issue ... Regards, Ed

I m owner of kia spectra. my car can only travel 8 or 9 km per litre. The pick up speed was not constant (sometime no power). I compare with my friend car consumption and his car can travel 10km/l. Can someone tell me is there any way to save fuel and increase my car performance... Thanks

Hi all Spectra owners, Check the head lamps. I noticed the inside cover 'open up'. That is the shinning, 'reflective' sides should be joined together, but i may be wrong. Appreciate your feedback. cheers.

Just to check with those who are driving Spectra whether your wiper will also very jerky cos yesterday when raining, I switch on the intermittent mode then it is very jerky like dancing, so scary! If you have the same experience and if you have any solutions to that, do let me know, thanks!
