  1. Hi all Seek some opinions here. Currently driving a 2008 car of overpriced brand. based on the selling price now, if i let go of the car now i should be able to make profit. However if COE continue to slide further of cos i wont be making as much. Was just thinking should i just use the profit and cash out a 2006-7 lower brand car without instalments. Come 2016-17 and just go for brand new. Instalments now is ard 1.5k but its still in my comfortable range, depreciation is around 15k per year. Based on some preliminary sums it seems like a logical thing to do since the depreciation is high, provided COE drops to saner level like 40-50k in 2016-7.
  2. Hi all bros... I want to upgrade my rim size from 17" to 18". Regretted buying this rim just 1 month ago from ArrowTyre which cost me about $1,000 for the rims... It is nice and I like it, but I want a better fitment of tyre to body. Car cannot go lower anymore due to low bodykit.. If any bros interested can whatsapp me your rim pic at 97100809. Below is my rim.
  3. Only 3 of us in a family. Driving Mit Grandis MPV. Do you think shd downgrade to 2L saloon? Anyone need more space like to exchange?
  4. and i quote "The Financial Times, which first reported Sharma's resignation, quoted unnamed sources on Tuesday saying his departure was unrelated to the downgrade or the Justice Department investigation. " haha unnamed sources or fictional character in play?
  5. As current petrol price increasing, do you do that for couple of dollars saving? I'm thinking from 95 to 92 for my 5 years 1.5L engine[:/]
  6. Hi People, I am currently driving a March 2006 cefiro 2.3l. The mileage is around 36k. I am thinking about selling this car ($45k?) and getting a cheap avante to "save" money. Will I actually save money? I am worried about maintaining the old cefiro. Something just died on the ceifro last month and cost me $500 to repair. The 40k servicing is coming up and I think doing with Tan Cheong will cost quite a bomb if there are many parts to be replaced. I don't really drive that often, 3 years only 36k mileage. I am curious, will it be cheaper to drive a 3 year old 2.3l cefiro or a brand new 1.6l avante, taking into consideration the depreciation of the car, the servicing, the insurance, and road tax. My GUESSTIMATE is 2.3 cefiro 1 year depreciation = $5k?? servicing = $1k insurance = $1.6k road tax = $1.6k petrol = $250x12 = $3k parts/repair costs = $1k total = 14.2k 1.6 avante 1 year depreciation (average over the next three years cuz first year depreciation very high) = $5k?? servicing = 0k insurance = $0.8k road tax = $0.7k petrol = $200 x12 = $2.4k parts/repair costs = $0k total = 8.9k Is any of my numbers wrong?
  7. Or at least, got a solid target date on when that can happen. You see, right now, I'm driving my dad's car. A Camry. He changed car earlier this year, to a smaller, sportier but less practical car. But because his work nature, he still needs a bigger car to ferry people around sometime. Since I was also looking to buy a car (albeit a small, rundown, 2-3 year old 1.5-1.6 liter Jap car), he said to me 'hey, you use this first'. The situation's about to change......maybe mid or end of next year. So I can finally get a proper car that is properly suited for me (small, rundown, 2-3 year old 1.5-1.6 liter Jap car, heh). So, yes, finally, a real ride of my own. But can't really complain about the current situation. After all, paying just the road tax, insurance, petrol and parking for a Camry. But at least, with the small car, my FC, RT and INS really goes down a lot.
  8. So I was driving home today behind this dazzling white Wish, sports rims, fierce looking body kit, and of course aggressively lowered suspension. The guy's driving style was normal enough, not speeding, not roadhogging. He happened to turn into the same, 1-lane 2-way residential side road that I did, and immediately exhibited a change of behaviour - and I found out why. Over the course of the 4 or 5 humps that we came to next, he started braking probably a couple of hundred meters from the hump, then painfully edged almost sideways over the hump. It was pretty obvious he had lowered his suspension a little too aggressively and was trying to prevent scraping the bottom of his car. This was probably the first time I had traversed that stretch of road - and those humps - at 20km/h without engaging either accelerator or brake. That was just enough to keep me going without stopping altogether behind him while he continued that painful journey, finally making a turn ahead of me. I was considerate enough though not to show any impatience - it was after all a trying and stressful enough experience for him... Which brings me to the opinion - there IS such a thing as too much lowering. 10mm fender space? 2 fingers? It seems to me that a lowering mod should improve stability and handling, but when carried too far actually takes away far too much comfort, and indeed reduces what should be an enjoyable cruising experience to a painful one.
  9. Hi, I'm a 9 yr old NS Man. I just fractured my leg 2 months ago and will be requesting for downgrade. What are the procedures I need to take and what grade will I be downgraded to? Original Pes A. Thanks!
  10. my colleague just scrapped 2 years Honda Stream , and bought toyota rush, IYO, it is downgrade or upgrade?
  11. topic as above. recently just booked a sports mz3 sedan, reasons for changing is.. - civic is nearly 4 years old, warrenty over and maintainence fees getting higher - high depreciation .. if dun scrap or sell, the value is going to drop way too much in the coming years (bought in 2000 , nearly 120k !! that time COE very high) - COE considered low now now..do u guys think is a upgrade or downgrade?
  12. Hi all, Need some advice. I'm driving a KIA 1.6A. The car came with 16" rims, compliments from my really nice salesman. The car looks great with these rims. h/w, fuel consumption pretty high. I have already done abt 40,000km and planning to change my tyres. For the sake of improving fuel consumption while sacrificing good looks, would it be silly of me to downgrade to 14" rims?
