  1. What’s happening to our values? Show off by renting? See the sentence “be the envy....” https://cnalifestyle.channelnewsasia.com/style/rent-rolex-tudor-cartier-omega-iwc-month-subscription-watch-club-10804896?cid=fbcna We reckon that you’re already an active participant in the sharing economy: You take a GrabShare to work, ride an ofo bike on the weekends and rent an Airbnb when you go on holiday. It seems like you can lease or share practically anything these days – even a Rolex watch. That’s right. Over the past 18 months, two subscription watch clubs – Acquired Time and TenTwo – have been offering watch rental services to horological enthusiasts, with a third, Specter One, set to launch this month. For as little as S$6 a day, you could be sporting a Rolex Submariner on your wrist, to the envy of your coworkers and chums. At least for an entire month, until it comes time to swap out your Sub for a Cartier Santos. READ: The James Bond watch turns 25 this year, with an exhibition at ION Orchard This week, TenTwo will also launch a special rental collection comprising four Singapore micro-brands: Arcturus, BOLDR, Reverie and Vilhelm. All are startups founded by Singaporeans who are passionate about horology, and are known as micro-brands because they typically produce less than 500 timepieces per year.
  2. woooh... totally disgusted after reading this news can't believe got such shameless people around
  3. For the past 3 Olympics, they have won gold in double digits averaging ~15 per Olympic. With only a few days left to London 2012, they have only won 4 gold. Swimming where they have been traditionally strong suddenly became a none event for them.
  4. sportman cannot control frustration? thought that is the most important thing they need to manage?
  5. Car plate is SJ something 5217.. this loser was driving along Admiralty Road West and think his car super powerful but in front of him there is this truck going at 70km/hour on the right lane ( got two lanes ). This loser TAILGATED the Truck for a good 10 second within inches and finally overtook from the left. I was right behind driving leisurely on the left lane and had to slammed on my brakes to allow some space for this super powerful joker car to cut into my lane. I thought all is well but this stupid joker swerved back into the truck lane and jammed brake to 0 km/hour after on his hazard lights. I slowly drove past them and was observing the stupid antics from my rear mirror. He behaved like a thug and kept waving his hand and pointing his middle fingers at the poor driver behind who had to slammed on his brake. OTher cars behind ALL got to slam on their brakes to 0km/hour not knowing what is happening in front. Finally I reached the next traffic light and the Audi zoomed past me at speeds of 120km/hour in a 60km/hour road while the truck is slowly catching up with me after I am at the junction waiting to turn left. What a day!
  6. Sorry but i really just want to vent here. Was at Shakira's concert on Sat before the F1 qualifying. Standing in front of me were these two gals. I noticed them cos they were kinda above average. I would say one was about 6/10 and the other about 7/10. Anyway after awhile i noticed the guy next to me getting fidgety. Then he made his move and offered the gals one of his beers. When they declined, he started saying "my hand very tired!!". So one of the gals, "A", offered to hold for him. Then he continued to cajole her to drink which she eventually did. The other gal "B" flatly declined to drink saying she doesn't drink. So end up only A drank. He then proceeded to try to make some very lame conversation. Some examples (not the exact words but more or less 90%) Guy: Who u work for? A: You know Ong Beng Seng? I work for his wife Guy: *blur look* A: (helpfully) the guy who brought F1 to singapore? Guy: *still blur look* err....u mean not bernie eccle-something? Me: *shake head* Guy (to B): what abt u? (wat are u working as?) B: *just keep silent and dun want to answer* Then he continued on with his lame conversation. I already guessed she had a bf cos i saw she was messaging someone whose name was "baby". Then he eventually made his attempt to find out if they were attached so he asked Guy: so where's ur boyfriend? A & B: (looked at each other for awhile) they're busy Guy: oh....(pause) ya, my girlfren also busy A & B: *burst laughing* me: *smack my forehead* Yeah right, u have a girlfriend just like i have a lambo Aventador. He then started to ask them for their AGE (!!) doesn't he know not to ask this kinda thing espcially at the first point of contact? And worse still, he started to say A looked OLDER than B (!!). Wah lao....He later went on to comment that A was more "sporting" than B (cos B was basically ignoring him most of the time). Felt like he was basically criticising B for being "tao". Basically A took the beer so i guess she felt obliged to humour him a bit whereas B who didn't take the drink had all the right to ignore him. Anyway for 1 hour plus i was enduring the whole thing. Really give guys a bad name and i felt so embarrased. L****e, if u're reading this, get a life! S*****e & A****a, if u're reading this, i apologise on his behalf.

  8. Saw on the XinMingRiPao 18Feb2010. One man(race withheld) had problem with his installment on his EvoX. So he put up a similar number plate SJF9920K, same as another similar white Ex which freqent clarkquay where this loser work as valet. The real owner got 3 parking summons since Oct09 and real owner complained to the Cicso. Sure enough the Cisco warden called him up today to ask him to go down toa particular carpark to say whether that EVOX is his or not! Immediately he made police report and the case is solved. Just wondering how many illegal duplicate licence plate car are on the road. Lessons to learn? Want to make crime....at least please do not illegal park or speed lah. Wah got money to buy EvoX...but no money to pay installment....Now Tai Chi Tua Diao liao for this guy. Game Over due to his silliness.
  9. For sure he is. Because of a $30 fine between this joker and URA, he wasted the reporter time to interview him and wasted my money buying TNP cos one page is wasted on devoting to his story. I rather buy Wanbao with Jack Neo sexual stories which made me horny. A luxury car owner has refused to pay a $30 parking fine, alleging that the parking attendant was biased in issuing the fines. Mr Wilson Ang, 23, parked his Mercedes-Benz SLK convertible in a lot along Circular Road, near Boat Quay at 8.10pm on 28 Feb. He was there to buy dinner for his wife and returned 10 minutes later to find he had been given a ticket for not displaying a coupon. He claims that his car was the only one in the entire row booked, although there were other cars that did not have parking coupons displayed. Mr Ang said: "It's not that I'm not aware that I have broken the rules. I just don't feel that the authorities should be biased when they are issuing tickets." He has also sent an e-mail to the Urban Redevelopment Authority, but has received no response. – additional reporting by Vinna Yip and Emily Wong, newsroom interns

  11. Well, I am here to rant, just to rant, so that I will not end up bottling my anger, and do harm to others physically. Was travelling along the stretch of road from the F1 brightly lighted up road leading from after Change Alley towards Nicoll Highway. (Sorry I can't remember the road name) There was a slight jam, not a bad one, at the part near the junction of Suntec. Cars from the leftmost lane all try to filter to the next lane, as there's a barrier on the leftmost lane. All of them signalled and waited for the moment to filter, except for one SF*5180P Black Mitsubishi LanceR who without signalling just edged out when I am already slightly ahead of him in my lane. It's not that I didnt want him to enter, but the car in front of him had already cut into my lane, which I had allowed, as the car had already signalled way in advance. The Black Mitusubishi Lancer just wanna to follow his footsteps to gain the advantage. But as what I have said, I was already slightly ahead of him in my lane by the time he managed to edge out. Why did I say he's a LOSER? Coz when he failed to cut right in front of me (which was his intention from what I see) he opened his door and let his door banged onto my door, and distorted my side mirror. Thank goodness my mirror is not being damaged, and no dent on my car door. But I was furious! How could a man behave in such a way? He's not any young punk, he's a middle-aged man! My goodness, what kind of children does he breed i really wonder. No wonder many young ones are behaving badly, coz the older ones don't set a good example. It's not that I am not gracious. I did allow the car in front of this Mitsubishi into my lane. Whereas for him, I did not, mainly coz he didn't signal his intention, how would I know when he wanna cut into my lane, I can't imagine/decide for him. At least if he signal his intention, I would know. But what really makes me mad is the way he behaves. If not coz my car is ferrying 2 elderly and 2 young kids, I would have cornered him and made him regret his decision. So brothers, do BEWARE of this SF* 5180P Black Mitsubishi LanceR who thinks he own the right of way and road.
  12. The PM in his National Day rally seems to pin his hopes that more will get hitched and have babies. As a matter of fact, the gov is pouring a lot of money ( your money, as taxpayers ) into dating agencies to 'help his gov with such a national problem'. As such, many enterpreneurs ( or rather opportunist) have set up dating agencies as their 'business model' to cash in on the profitable venture. But the fact is...ppl who approach dating agencies to PAY money to get dates are LOSERS in real life...both for males as well as females....so are those who put up profiles of themselves ( for free or otherwise) listing their need to get hitched on internet sites. Your views?
