The secret deals and hidden assets of some of the world’s richest and most powerful people have been revealed in the biggest trove of leaked offshore data in history. Branded the Pandora papers, the cache includes 11.9m files from companies hired by wealthy clients to create offshore structures and trusts in tax havens such as Panama, Dubai, Monaco, Switzerland and the Cayman Islands. They expose the secret offshore affairs of 35 world leaders, including current and former presidents, prime ministers and heads of state. They also shine a light on the secret finances of more than 300 other public officials such as government ministers, judges, mayors and military generals in more than 90 countries. The files include disclosures about major donors to the Conservative party, raising difficult questions for Boris Johnson as his party meets for its annual conference. More than 100 billionaires feature in the leaked data, as well as celebrities, rock stars and business leaders. Many use shell companies to hold luxury items such as property and yachts, as well as incognito bank accounts. There is even art ranging from looted Cambodian antiquities to paintings by Picasso and murals by Banksy. The Pandora papers reveal the inner workings of what is a shadow financial world, providing a rare window into the hidden operations of a global offshore economy that enables some of the world’s richest people to hide their wealth and in some cases pay little or no tax.

Last weekend I visited a Success Resources seminar with Robert Kiyosaki as the main speaker. I was wondering why these rich gurus like peng joon or Sandy JadeJe will wanna teach their secrets to others. supposedly secrets that can easily earn thousands every day or so. I am trying to be more positive and think of good reasons. i admit i am not those super selfless generous guys. I have my ways of trading and earning a good profit month to month, but I don't think I will openly share. i earned it the hard way and i don't dare to be responsible if someone learns and lose money. I have my ecommerce business that my company and I are working hard, but all these are like hardearned secrets we built up. Am I the odd one out? Or maybe coz I am not rich enough to be openly generous? I know this forex trader, he just opened his corporate office in marina bay, a nice trading floor. i put my money with him for 3 years, earning 3% per month and happy with it. so when he corporatised and planning to register with MAS for private fund, i ask him if he would be able to teach me more on forex, i don't mind paying to learn. this is a multi millionaire trader and he told me "sorry pal, i won't teach anyone.." i mean, that makes complete sense. i don't blame him for keeping his trading skills private. i just don't get it why so many gurus teaching their skills and knowledge for barely $2000 SGD (most of the courses at Success Resources are abt $1998 SGD) its so little. say one course has abt 100 particpates, thats $200,000 minus all the commission (credit card fees, payment for room, payment to Success Resources) maybe you get back only $120,000 or so? isn't that very little considering the skill sets they have can net them hundreds of thousands monthly easily? Why add competitors to their fields? i like to think they are nice generous people who really want to help the world, but i have this feeling I am the naive guy. just feel sad that so many people sign up, not sure how many will truly benefit from it.

Red Bull's three title rivals are conspiring against the team with a common goal -- to rein in the dominance of the RB6 car. According to Germany's Bild-Zeitung tabloid, the dramatic solution was devised after Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber scored every pole position in 2010 so far, and then pulled even further ahead with developments debuted in Barcelona last weekend. Bild said the "secret pact" between McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes involves the "exchange of data" about the technical superiority of the latest car designed by Adrian Newey. Ross Brawn is quoted as saying: "In some areas Red Bull have gone in different directions. Our people are looking at it closely." And Ferrari's Stefano Domenical is quoted by L'Equipe: "Red Bull has taken a big step forward in performance (in Spain). We saw it Friday and Saturday and with Mark's performance on Sunday. "This is a reference for us. We are not overstating it but we have to look more carefully at it and understand," he added. It was earlier wrongly believed that the RB6 was hiding some sort of variable ride-height system, but Bild reveals that one of the actual reasons for the car's competitiveness is the exhausts. We reported during the February tests that Red Bull had put stickers on the car to make it look like the exhausts were located conventionally, when in fact they were located much lower. Bild said the lower exhausts, hidden from view by six mechanics on the Barcelona grid, contribute to the car's superior aerodynamics. It is also reported that Red Bull could begin using a McLaren and Ferrari-like F-duct system at Istanbul in two weeks. Gerhard Berger told APA: "They are clearly the championship favourites. Woman loses $55,000 to phone scam Tue, Dec 11, 2007 The Straits Times A WOMAN transferred $55,000 to two bank accounts to settle a money laundering case which she was alleged to have been involved in. Police said the woman, who is in her late 30s, was at home in Choa Chu Kang Street 64 on Dec 4 when she received a call from a woman who claimed to be an officer from the Subordinate Court. The caller accused her of being involved in a money laundering case and told her to appear in court unless she transferred money to two bank accounts. The con woman said she would visit the victim at home on Dec 7 with documents to settle her case after the money had been paid up. The victim made the transfers totalling $55,000 on Dec 6, but the trickster did not turn up the next day.
