The thing you should do is call traffic police and say that you have a back injury after the accident and the Malaysian driver had run away. The police must act when there is an injury. They do not act otherwise. Try Autoexcel in Sin Ming. They helped me.

Only can make hit-&-run report loh - This MY vehicle no# from KL - no driver id will be hopeless in getting a recourse.

I would certainly ask for ID or passport and take a photo,. Iignore the Malaysian driver's ANY excuse to get back into this vehicle.

Doubt consider hit n run cos driver did stop.

Minimum is u need other veh no. Which u have.

Put in a claim wh yr own ins co to get yr car repaired 1st n ty wil try to claim fm msia ins co.

It might take some time though. If ty cannot claim fm his ins ty wil let u know. U can make noise n complain why not?

Worse case u bear loss of yr excess but good ins co. wil try to claim fm other party wh yr photos as evidence.

Too bad but thats life. Our gharmen dun care a fark abt us. Ty only interested in making money fr themselves.

I was involved in an accident with a Malaysian truck and self pay $800 to fix... No bloody way you can claim even a cent from them unless they pay you on the spot... I made a police report and went to IDAC... Except for a call a few days later from TP asking for more information, till date there's nothing heard and it's been almost a year...

Sad to say but the victim is pretty much on his own... Can fix without claiming insurance then it'll be good but sounds like the damage is pretty bad...

LLST... At least no one is hurt so look on the brighter side...

Protip : If you ever get in an accident with a Malaysian car - just ask the driver for whatever cash he has in his wallet - SGD and RM inclusive - that's the best you can do!

Malaysian drivers expect to be asked for cash on the spot in boleh land - so they usually won't protest.

The last time an idiot did that to me.....he kena haul in for vehicle inspection and fine for illegal modification.

He tried to twist & turn by merry-go-round trading/transfer the car with dealers just to shake off the vehicle inspection.

Apparently the car got tons of illegal mods. [dizzy]

Pattern liao liao........Trying to cover one hole with a 2nd bigger hole....then a 3rd a 4th hole..... [laugh] until now kena black list & court case for cheating the govt liao. [laugh]

yesterday got tailgated by a yellow J plate GTR...give way to him still come side by side and blow exhaust loud loud..knn...if not for our country COE I would say I will be able to match whatever that sialan twerp was driving.

Same there, if we hit a car in MY, their insurance cannot claim against ours.

i hit a Malaysian car on NSHW 2.5yrs ago.. recently receieved a letter from my Insurance company saying the driver is making a claim from my insurance..

So to TS.. you can claim, but the process will take damn long..

Rear ended by Msia car, driver drove off!!

On 6th Dec about 550pm, was driving along PIE towards Jurong on lane 3, almost reaching the slip road to BKE. All of a sudden, a Msia car (Proton Wira WJM373) swerved from the 2nd lane to behind me & banged me real hard. I noticed him from my rear wheel mirror because the traffic was very slow & I happen to see the mirror.

My bluetooth earpiece got flung out from my ear, pillow on seat flung to front, spectacle case in compartment got flung out.. etc, luckily I did not bang the car in front. I was like stunned for at least 5 seconds before I recovered my senses.

To keep long story short, I got down, saw the other driver, he said he was at fault & he said a few times that we should go make report. he was alone & I was alone. I took out my phone & took a few photos, then called my family to arrange to pick up my kids as I'll definitely be late. My rear bumper & rear hatch door stucked, exhaust pipe dislodged onto the road. His car front bumper dented & bonnet had popped up. I never expect his car to be able to move far.

While talking on my phone, the driver said he will drive to side of road because causing obstruction, then discuss next course of action. After finish talking on my phone (less than a min) I turned around & realise that car is no where in sight at the road side !! Really buay steady

I called up our friendly neighbourhood police centre, ask if they can help me keep a lookout for this car. Guess what, he told me to just go neighbourhood police post make report. I told him that car could have gone past the causeway by then, he told me TP will follow up. I give up.

Next day I made a police report, was told TP will investigate (which I'm not even sure they will read the report at all), report at my insurance reporting centre etc. I was told at the reporting centre that most workshop in SG do not do 3rd party claims if the other party is Msia car, because very hard to claim from them even if we not at fault. Why so unfair to us? Furthermore in my case I do not have the other party particulars.

I can only hope that driver will report to his insurance & our local police, though all else point to him purposely driving off shirking responsibility.

Should I post this in EDMW, stomp, mycarforum or even Lowyat forum, maybe someone will recognise or know the driver.

If anyone got info on that wira WJM373 or the driver, please email to me at spellxrye @ gmail.com . Thanks a lot.

I really need advise, what can I do?

The photo I took of his car & my car at the scene.

my car:

his car:

Imagine you are a policeman at the causeway entrance.

You see this "wira WJM373" coming in to go back to malaysia.

What would you do?

1) I will stop that "wira WJM373"

2) I would not allow it to get out of Singapore.

3) At the current look of the car, sure got something wrong.

4) 100% must inspect the car

5) Driver particular must be scan and record

6) What if he had just hit someone, rob and escape ...etc

If the above action did not taken by the causeway warden or police, I think Singapore really got serious problem.

Check with the causeway centre see there's any record of such car with the driver's record.

"STOMPER" like to "STOMP" a lot at the website.

Such a bad condition car driving on the road and no one "STOMP" about it or notice it then this is weird....

I know how TS felt, If I put myself in his situation, I really feel very sian and fk up.

If still no solution, just think of it in another way.

1) You are safe

2) You are safe

3) You are still safe

Thank GOD you are unhurt and still get to see you love ones, especially family member.

Repair cost cannot buy back your life.

TS, really glad that you are safe :)

Errr... Isn't this an issue with the insurance company?

I'm not if the govt is liable for anything..

With all the photos, you can make a claim against the MY car through your insurance company. Although it will take a long process to claim against them (few years), they will pay up.

Submit all the photos to your insurance company, they will claim for you but if your access is $1500/- you pay for the repair and few years later when insurance company got the money, they will return it to you.

I had done it before when a My lorry graced my vehicle on the right side from rear mudguard to the front mudguard ... [:(] . Received payment only after 2 years inwhich the car had been sold a year later after accident.

what if victim car is only 3rd party fire and theft? [:p]

Thats the problem with alot of accident victims, like to talk and talk on the phone asking for advice, fast hand fast leg settle on the spot with the other party den talk on the phone until the cow come home. Now the cow ran away.
