Hi

There''s always a layer of dust on rims. No matter how you wash, within one or two days, the rims look sleepy again. Unlike Tyres or Car body where you can maintain a shine even after 5 days, rims is a component that always look dusty.

What solutions and methods would you recommend?

2 things :

1) Get Sonax Wheel Cleaner, nano technology. Spray, wait 3mins, use strong hose spray, brake dust gone. No other brands come close!!!! You can spray it before driving into car wash. Damn stink!! But damn good!!

2) Change low brake dust brake pads, rims get dirty much slower.

Just change to ceramic brake pads. Almost no dust. Did that recently (ordered on eBay cheaper) and wheels stay clean for weeks.

Only drawback is braking power not as good as metallic pads. But no regrets!

According to my workshop, they dun recommend low dust brake pad.

brake pad and brake rotor clamp together 1 thing got to wear off,

if brake pad no dust , it might be u wearing off your brake rotor??

if both rotor and pad no wear, mean u end up with less braking power??

Cant seem to find any Amorall Brake Dust Repellant recently.

Anyone knows where can get?

Autobacs.

Now got 25% off so it’s $14+ per bottle.

Bought one last week.

I will not sacrifice my car braking power for cleaner wheels.

To me it’s not worth it.

Rotor is a wear and tear item. It has to be replaced at some point it time. Even normal metallic pads wear out the rotors.

Ceramic pads do wear off, but it contains no metallic component, its dust does not stick to the metal rims, unlike metallic dust. Could be because of magnetic properties etc. But the end result is the rims stay clean looking for weeks!

PS. Only rotors that have practically no wear (over lifespan of the car) are carbon ceramic rotors, but they cost tens of thousands!
