Mahjong74 Supercharged July 8, 2012 Share July 8, 2012 Hi I just bought a 3+ yr old Axio and its overheating and Im not sure what exactly is the cause. I have changed the coolant, EO, transmission oil after I bought it. I have noticed that if i drive continuosly for about 1hr my car will start to overheat. I also notice that my radiator fan starts up after just 15mins of normal driving. My car also overheats faster especially when im travelling around 100km/hr n it willstart to cool again if i slow down. I have not sent my car to the mech yet cos i have no idea what needs to be fixed. Hopin to see if anyone else had ever experienced tgis problem before and knows what needs fixing.. Thanks. My mechanic who specialise in servicing and repairing Toyota does have the diagnostic computer for Toyota. A small workshop whose charges is cheap. Let me know if you need his contact. At AMK Autopoint. ↡ Advertisement

Update - i brought my axio to a workshop which i visited once.. They told me the thermostat needs to be changed.. In the end my car is still overheating and the mech told me i should do a radiator flush next and if that doesnt work he has to check my engine I paid and left.. Not going back there anymore

Kianbeng Clutched September 17, 2012 Share September 17, 2012 Thanks everyone for sharing.. I will get my radiator checked.. Any recommendation for reliable toyota mechanics?? Hope you have already found a good workshop to fix your car. I think there isn't really a reliable-toyota-mechanic. There are probably alot of reliable mechanics out there, who can fix generic bread/butter cars like what you and I have. If you have fixed the problem, do share with us what went wrong. Thermostat or choked radiator? Or you kena asked to change almost everything. This is a common mentality for many workshops so as to ensure no other similar problems will happen in near future. Not going back there anymore  How much was the thermostat btw? In one of my car, it was like < $20. So I changed it because it was the cheapest thing to do and since I haven't changed it for the past 10yrs. Not that I'm having a overheating problem but I was probably doing abit of preventive maintenance since the thermostat was $15 and was quick to replace when I was replacing the hoses too. But anyhow, this workshop's diagnosis seems to be similar to what we suspected / discussed earlier. It's either the thermostat or a choked radiator. I don't know if there are still many radiator shops out there unlike last time where they specializes in flushing and radiator repairs. Nowadays most radiators are aluminium and maybe thats why so many radiator shops had to close shop.

Jansonchua 2nd Gear June 1, 2013 Share June 1, 2013 Dear Toyota Axio car owners, anyone got any idea which workshop can replace toyota axio spare parts for a reasonable price? I was quoted 2k+ for my Axio to change rear brake drum, brake pump, shock absorber, spark plug and dunno what else..... just got the car from the dealer and have to pay 2k for repairs...absurd!!! I was advised to buy spare parts from stockist but don't know which workshop would be willing to help install. I welcome all advises from you guys at the forum!
