Hyundai does produce better cars than Honda, it all depends on which cars are you comparing against.

Hyundai Azera 3.8 V6 vs Honda city 1.5 I4

No question which is a better car.

Which make gives more value for money? The answer is pretty straightforway, the American and European markets chose the Korean make Hyundai and Kia. The reason why Hyundai and Kia are one of the manufacturer in the black in these times.

Not a fair comparison isn't it ? Should compare at the same price range, example Sonata 2L vs Civic 1.8L or 2L ( both around $80K)

If use Hyundai top model then Honda should bring out their Legend 3.5V6 290bhp vs Azera 3.8 V6.

Again value for money is also very subjective, because $100k for some is big bucks while to some is peanuts. You remember someone said $600K is peanuts? [sleeping]

Err...next time difficult for yourself to buy a powerful car when strike Toto. Have to face MCF members and mirror then slap yourself for making the above statement. [sweatdrop]

Better for each individual to choose the ride they fancy.

That wont be happened as I purchase car based on the look as the 1st criteria.

In Singapre, ppls want powder either to overtake and speeding over the traffic limit. End of the days even if your car is faster, I will still meet you at the next traffic junction.

You are the one that doesn't compare the same price range. A 1.5L Jazz is 77k, city 68k, which I suspect is similar to his comparsion.

One the other hand, you used Sonata at price of 60k+ to compare with an 80k civic car and you say they are same price??? [thumbsdown]

Sonata is listed as $65899 with OMV = $18.5k and dep= $5665/yr

Civic 1.8 auto is listed as $83800 less $6k overtrade= $77800 with OMV@25,000 and dep = $6530/yr

Can't have exactly same price but IMHO it is price range that matters. Civic cost $865 more per year. Assuming you make at least say $60K a year, is $865 considered out of the range?

oh please guys, we are not car mechanics. some guys treat their car as work-horse, engines

mean everything to them, some just transport, some as art. So what we know so much about

v-tec, once scrapped, it would end up as sampan motors in Vietcong river. why make life so

hard, why so defensive?

Yups agreed. for about 90% of SG population just treat their cars as transport. Agree also that there is no need to have so in depth knowledge into how their car feature works.

Im fine as long as these 90% do not act smart and give false information here.

Yes i get a little defensive when it comes to Vtec cos I have been intensively studying and driving one over the past 3 years. Its my passion as i am a regular trackie. So do forgive my impulsiveness when i read arrogant posts.

If that post wasnt posted with such an attitude, i wouldnt have bothered to reply anyway.

I think we should not use price to compare. The automakers built each models to challenge one another. Take for instance Honda built Civic is to challenge the Corolla, same same Corolla and Civic is to challenge the Mazda3 and again challenge the Lancer and Ford Laser etc. These few are the competing models.

Also, for the hatchback models Jazz, M2, Yaris etc are competing for a portion of the pie. The other model would be the Camry, Accord, Sonata, Legacy etc.

These are the competing models, if you got money you buy the more expensive one. Some choose the model/branding by going for looks, some engineering, some reliability and some "just a basic no frills car". [rolleyes]

I think you need to grow up here.. I believe his Avante might be able to do it cause my rio is able to and it is stable. I had witness with me a few times up, not trying to showoff but the car can go to that speed but of course, need sometime and stretch of road to pickup till than.

Err......May I know so without winning any 4D, what should be the salary range to be justifiable to purchase a 100k car?

I remember the last time I 1st started work more than 10 yrs ago, a normal 1.6L lancer cost 108k.

Can anyone answer my above query? thx

well, if u have cash 100k now, use them all to buy lor, even if u not working.....no pay...

hee... Anyway, the question asked is so general, how to give proper answer....

Some make 100k a year, but spend all 100k on girls, clubs, diamonds, etc....

Some make 30k a year, save 20k a year..... Eat roti, walk to work.. etc...
