Can anyone answer my above query? thx

My personal rule of thumb is car purchase price = annual salary.

100K car means 100K salary. Anything more will start to stretch while anything less is conservative stand.

Loan no more than 70% for 7 years max.

Don't know if you feel this figure is agreeable.

a hyundai avante and a kio rio's speedometer shows up to 180km/hr max, i wonder how can the driver tell that it is doing 210km/hr then. want to lie also be more smart lah. :D and the manufacturer's specs says max speed is 170km.hr, how is it possible to be doing 210km/hr then ? yeah, maybe going on a downward slope can be considered. but that is not the power of the car, that is gravity. else like that if a car can drop from a sky free fall can also mean that the car can hit 1000km/hr. what a joke these young punks make. haiz, i think my students smarter than them.

a) Using GPS.

b) additional after market digital speedo (bought by many)

c) Kia rio max speedo = 200km/hr

d) Hyundai avante max speedo = 220km/hr

a) modifications, can be done.

a) errr pls get ur facts right and calculate the terminal velocity.

b) nobody is talking about power of the car watsoever, they'r just stating that they've reached that kind of speed using that car model.

what a joke these young punks make. haiz, i think my students smarter than them.

a) U r a teacher? [lipsrsealed]

Thanks for the feedback, but not all ppls is having the same annual salarys every year. Assuming increasement is constant, some year get 2 mths bonus, some year get 6 mth bonus. The salary can range fom 95k to 115k. So can afford a 100k of car anot without any other extra cash saving (no 30% $top up)?

It is a guide in my IMHO, meaning to say if salary is around 100K, just buy a car around that figure. can be 80K can be 110K. So be a comfortable guiding figure to start with.

Hey Mr Veryfree, your remarks are not friendly over here. Perhaps it is also a mirror of your current standing.

If you think the salary and the budget for buying a car is not agreeable to what I had mentioned, you can always state your rule of thumb. It is a just personal opinion.

You can be earning 200K pa and own a Chery or own a 200K car while earning $25K pa. Don't insult or de-grade fellow formers here. [shakehead]
