all losses are irrelevant....why ?

1) becoz they are paper loss...as long as we don't liquidate them..then it's ok

2) becoz we are taking a 20 yr position.....(if it keep worsing, maybe we will take a 30 yrs position so that the overall annualise return is still RESPECTABLE ).....

They are always saying that the investments they keep putting in is for long term. Does that mean the $ won't be used even if we need it now? So if worse comes to worse we have to eat grass instead of rice as the investment will return good money only in 20 years time

Goodyear began his career as an investment banker at Wall Street brokerage, Kidder Peabody, advising companies on mergers, acquisitions and financing.

I think we are in better hands than HC. This guy has been doing M&A while HC was just leading a technology form.

being smart is 1 thing, having an acumen is another.

Well ...isn't that what most Singaporeans are going thru ? Spending on Advance Credit ...monthly just pay the minimum sum ...Cars loan to serviced ...etc . Whereby need to worry tomorrow still got money to eat ...petrol to pump ....children to feed

BUT ...Having hundreds of thousands in the CPF which you can see in your monthly statement but cannot touched....Ironical isn't it ??

Sometimes i am wondering ...if one who is without parents , siblings and offspring ... but unfortunately that person die of Hunger before he reaches the requirement age to draw money ...where does the money in the CPF goes to ?

Some Charity ? or contribute to some other person bonuses ?? or would they make a "golden" coffin for the person to be buried in ?? [:(]

He is the real Charles Goodyear. As in having the name of his great great grandfather who runs the lumber business then.
