On last weekend, drove my Exora to Genting Highland, experience the high hill driving. whenever feel she was "no power", press hard to acceralator, u can heard the "houling" sound from the engine and the power came in (>4-5RPM). [bounce1].

On my way back to Singapore, stop abt 45 mins at Air Keroh for a short break ( driver and ride) then continue the journey. when almost reach JB, suddenly there is no air came out from front seat air-con vent but can heard the wind blowing sound. 2nd and 3rd row air-con no problem, anyone know what happening?

Next day the air-con back to work, wield! [:/]

the reason for that to happen is because the air con is too cold. So cold that the water that's suppose to flow out of you car freezes in front of the blower. usually it will condense on the filter of the aircon dats y... but when you switch off your engine, it'll melt and go back to normal... i was told that you'll have to monitor this because if this prolongs, it spoils the thermostate... too cold... also... fungus can grow on the filter... so just take note... =]

after driving this car for 8 months.... 18000+km... my below comments....

1) Fitted a Hurricane drop in filter, NGK iridium plugs.

2) F/C for me suxx... despite i've tried both Ron 95 and 98... both gives me the same F/C... i'm only doing about 11 - 12L/100km (50% city, 50% highway)... which is about 8-9km/L... i don't mind the F/C because its a 1.4 tonne machine you're driving... can't expect that good F/C... but i'm envious how you people managed to get good F/C... even 10 is good... i don't get that! haha...

3) my right rear brakes tend to screech... have told the service centre donkey times... but what they did was just to lubricate and lubricate... no solution to it as far as i know...

4) Aircon smell of petrol after pumping petrol... now i know this is really an issue with most drivers here... i'll get them to recitify this...

What i like about this car.....

1) The space! I can have 2 car seats in the middle row for my children and the maid sits behind comfortably.... On top my... I also put my bicycle in the car boot with the pram...

2) The aircon... may face the problemm when its too cold... but what i usually do is to manuall switch off the aircon and just leave the blower on when it gets too cold. I was told by the mechanic that even if you leave the aircon thermostat in the hottest temperature, it will still be cold. Don't allow the freezing to take place... the cold air won't flow out and eventually the thermostat will spoil... its usually when you leave the car stationary with the aircon on... this takes place...

lastly... i've only paid $58k for this car... i think this car serves me well in terms of space and the usability... takes me from point A to point B... i think there ain't any MPV that can match this offer at this time...

best part of it is... ever since i've bought this car... i struck lottery twice with my number plate... straight no... no permutation... good discount for my car liao.... =]

i thing it all boils down to individual driving style....jack rabbit start, full throttle acceleration & sudden stops is a no no.

after all its a 1.4 ton less your family load & petrol prices now at its high= what can I say....enjoy the rest, like the space

& cold a/con.

like to point out this is a good practice especially if you are driving up north--constain 2-3 hours driving-non stop.

all driving exora should note this on the a/con--will prevent a/con from suddenly going off due to system freeze.

Hope our batch already improved-still crossing my fingers & toes... [laugh]

So far my longest drive about 1.5hrs- still ok.

my a/con temp now always set at 1/4 position(cold enough for my liking).

cos found 1/2 position too cold.....

Tomorrow making trip to melak, to visit in-laws & hopefully have a chance to visit the

authorise proton service/parts centre there.....

will check on some of the issues mentioned on this forum...

hope will come back with some info for you guys!

Also will check how much the rear chrome ganish is selling..

thinking of changing that if price OK!

In my current car, I have installed a by pass in which there is a switch that could control the temp, in this way, once it hit the set temp, it cuts off the compressor. Temp raise above the set temp, compressor cuts in.

I installed at Mark Cool.

I believe this may void the warranty.

BTW, anyone can tell me where can I install DVD and body kit in JB?

bro, mine also ok so far---fill up petrol last night, check all round-no leak or smell.....

could be the early batches...

Bingo! mine is the earliest batch. All sort of problems range from tuk-tuk sound, aircon, petrol smell to brake sound [bigcry] Most of the problems rectified but not the petrol smell problem. Just wonder, must we send the car to Malaysia??? Any owner got it done in Singapore?

Oh yes, another one, the grounding cable thingy, any exora onwer from the early batches try it in Singapore?

Last one, which side of the knob should I turn (left or right) to make the aircon temp higher (warmer)?

So far when through the humps no more TuT TuT sound :D

2. As for the petrol smell, SC have checked for leakages and have tighten the top part of the intake fuel delivery system.(Still need to test out  )

So far so good! :D
