It is covered but think excess is higher as compared to those named ones in the insurance policy [gossip]

But if he used it in illegal activities i.e Racing, driving w/o licence/ drink driving then confirmed insurance company wave [wave][wave][wave] to insured owner [dead]

Yes, as unnamed driver.

But if he uses the car to race, or drink drive and get into accident, then it's No.

BTW, you might want to make sure he/she have the driving license for at least 2 years or above 26 (can't remember exact age). Else, the excess is high.

Below taken from my insurance policy where it states:

Any other person who is driving on the Policyholder's order or with his permission.

Covered, but got to pay some excess.

For AXA its $800 if the driver is in similar category as you (age & experience) and $2500 for young and unexperienced. BUT do check what they state in your policy.

AXA's website, see pink box at bottom of page- http://www.axa.com.sg/axa_ins_sg/index.asp...did3=smartdrive

Undeclared young and inexperienced driver excess reduced to $2,500.

Just lend him your BMX. Not worth lending your car to some friend. Get into accident, no more friend.

Drink, race, carry hazardous items is standard for all drivers.

Just better make sure that he/she can pay. Premium and NCD may be affected of course.

Instead of asking here, I suggest you read your insurance that you sign for. It will states clearly its coverage. Diff policy have diff coverage extended.

I have seen cases where, friend borrow car. Got into a accident and can't pay. In the end, no more friend.

On a personal note, I will not lend my car to friend.

Actually very true. Happens all the time.

So when my friend wants to borrow car frm me, I'll only lend if i knw that person well and that he is willing to accept all responsibilities associated with the car if anything goes wrong.

U lend ur friend ur car he drive accident insurance cover???

depends on ur insurance coverage.

AIG covers all drivers. AXA covers main and named drivers. Undeclared drivers will have higher excess. If below 26, lagi worst [sweatdrop]

Turbocharged

Best way is to drive a manual transmission car.

This way, could cut down on potential borrowers who could only drive automatic versions. [:)]

Correct. Those want to borrow car usually don't own car. Even got class 3 without "A" alway like to borrow auto car for easy to drive without engine stall.
