Best of all, in US, buy a cup of hot coffee (take away) to drink, burnt her lips and she sue Mac for injuriy & awarded $$$$$$$$ by Court... [grin][grin]

 

Actually this particular case was justified.

 

The lady actually scalded her thighs, the McDs involved was serving coffee that was too hot to drink. They has been warned and told many times about it, but still refused to reduce the temperature.

 

That's not to say that there aren't plenty of other cases that aren't totally ludicrous...

what else is there to do since both the bully and his parent are unapologetic? whack them back? then there will be no end already right?

 

have the parents already spoken to each other about the case before the legal action is being taken? if yes, then they deserve to be served the letter.

Depend on country. You are from Australia so you might not understand the culture here. If you serve a drink that is not hot, it could be deem as serving something that is not good. (I am saying could and not will also Hot and not warm here)

The lady should have tested the temperature of the Coffee before attempting to drink the drink.

Why? Aren't you just assuming that the one filing is telling the truth and is justified?

look at the stupid peter.

 

it seems like he is questioning/demanding an explanation from the victim's parent.

it also seems like he doesnt feel his child has done anything wrong.

 

the little boy suffered a broken wrist and lost conscious is that not serious enough?

and he still got the thick elephant skin to ask if it is that serious until need to sue.

 

i know that going to school and getting into fights are just part of life.

but i do not need a 9 year old boy to break my son's wrist and knock my son unconscious.

 

lol i sound like i'm the parent.

 

look, as a parent, if your boy is so seriously injured while in school, first thing first i go see the principal n bang table leow!!!

so i m wondering if the injury is from the school. do u mean the teachers and principal will cover up if a student is being beaten up till unconscious in school? [rolleyes]

That's another case......

 

The one I referring is a lady who was drinking it and burnt her lips. That why all Mac Stylofoam cup & cover comes with a warning "Hot" printed on it. All because no warning of "Hot" on cup and Mac kana sue...... [:(]

thats why i m not jumping to conclusions.

 

i m saying there are several options the victim's parent can take before legal action. if they have already taken those steps without any apologetic action from the abuser, then go ahead n serve the letter.

Everything also can sue. Its call legal right. What kind of judgement you can get is another thing.

 

Also, if not careful, win already also lose $$$. But definitely an increasing trend to sue each other in Singapore. Which is not a bad thing. Depending on your views.

Apologies are stupid. Any apology made under duress is going to be insincere. The only time I will ask for an apology is when the apology is a public one and I can humiliate the other day to punish him.

even if peter and his son apologises now, it'll be too late already.

 

the father seems determined enough.

he should humiliate them like how that bully humiliate his son when they tied him up and used towels to whip him.

but from the article, i feel that peter and his son really deserve to be sued.

 

the bully kept saying stuff like:

Peter's son says that he raised the chair to threaten his classmate, but did not intend to hit him. But he stood up unexpectedly, and his head hit the chair.

 

"His head did not hit the chair very hard, and he didn't cry or complain that it was painful then."

 

Peter's son says that after this, his classmate still asked to play with him and his friend. That was when they tied his hands with the skipping rope. After the incident, his wrist was red, but there was no bleeding, and he did not tell them it was painful.

 

can tell that he's desperately trying to find a way to wriggle out.
