they couldnt undo the bolts to change to the spare.

Just fix the box spanner onto the nut , usually just step on the lever using your body weight the bolt should come loose unless your fren weigh less than 20 kg

Sometime good to have an air pump... I have this $69.95 jump star cum air pump.. Had flat tyre twice due to nail.. Just need to pump the tyre, and it's good enough to last until I reach the workshop to do patching at about $8...
