Life is all about luck and leverage.

If she is SMART enough to start a music company and get loans to finance her career, and live in expensive house, then I see her intelligence there.

If people willingly contribute to HuangNa's mother, and that indian worker hacked by sarawakians, etc....then what is there for us to complain.

Β

How to control so many things.

If you give your kids $10...and he buys macdonals...you get angry too?

You have a point there. However, we're not talking about being smart to make money and so on. If that's what we're complaining about, there'll be endless threads on the footballers making millions each year.

Β

The allegations, in case if you've missed it, relate to criminal breach of trust and misuse of funds. Granted she's not one of the 17 questioned, but the 18th person, she's likely a suspect in this case. So we'll only know when the investigations are out. It need not be her being guilty, but did the funds that were misused get to her. If it did, then your point is irrelevant.

Β

Next, the complain is also about her lifestyle not matching that of her husband's sermon. I'm not saying she has to obey everything he says. But given the spiritual role that KH has, it's reasonable to expect members of his household to carry out what he believes in, as these beliefs are core values, not just mundane issues like what you like to drink or eat. Thus, the complains are reasonable and fyi, no one is really complaining about her wealth per se if you've read the previous posts.

Talk about nuts, here is joke I received this morning...

Β

GEOGRAPHY OF A WOMAN

Β

Between 18 and 22, a woman is like Africa. Half discovered, half wild, fertile and naturally beautiful!

Between 23 and 30, a woman is like Europe.

Well developed and open to trade, especially

For someone of real value.

Between 31 and 35, a woman is like Spain, very hot, relaxed and convinced of her own beauty.

Between 36 and 40, a woman is like Greece, gently aging but still a warm and desirable place to visit.

Between 41 and 50, a woman is like Great Britain, with a glorious and all conquering past.

Between 51 and 60, a woman is like Israel, has been through war, doesn't make the same mistakes twice, takes care of business.

Between 61 and 70, a woman is like Canada, Self-preserving, but open to meeting new people.

After 70, she becomes Tibet. Wildly beautiful, with a mysterious past and the wisdom of the ages.... An adventurous spirit and a thirst for spiritual knowledge.

Problem is though, that there is starting to have a lot of stuff come out, that even if not use church funds per se, that a lot of inappropriate pressure was brought to bear on church members to support her career.

Β

This is what makes me particularly angry. Putting aside the whole "legal" thing, and church funds thing, I get very upset when people use a position of power to advantage themselves by preying on the weaker. And I don't call this intelligence in the slightest.

Β

(BTW - I am not flaming you in the slightest, just extropalating a little from your post)

yes, i can add some facts to this case. There have been posts in forums, hearsay from friends of friends from CHC that they were 'pressured' to buy the CDs. Now, I'm not saying a knife was put to their heads but their leaders would tell them to buy. As a result, peer pressure led them to buy. They bought and even bought as gifts for their other friends.

Β

So in the end, album sales were largely from their own members and many of their non CHC friends were also exposed to her music. This 'achievement' helped her to get nominations for some music awards. But in the end, her fan base did not really extend beyond the church.

Β

Anyway, back to the point on pressure. I was younger once in my teens. I know what it is like to do things because you wanna be in the crowd. So while not being entirely forceful, peer pressure certainly does work among teens.

If it was "trusting in the lord" that created the problem, why would you "trust in the lord" to solve the problem?

i think it was more like trusting in money that led to the problem. Now, 'trust in the Lord' would solve the problem because the Lord, according to the bible, punishes those who prey on the weak and the poor. If KH is guilty, the last person he would want to trust is the Lord for sure! Unless he doesn't mind the kind of punishment the Lord dishes out through the govts on earth- just a spiritual perspective here.

Β

My goodness...

Β

People didn't give to KH to "spend to make himself happy", they give to spend for specific (implied) purpose...

Β

I am quite sure that people didn't give to support Sun (if indded this turns out what has been happening), people didn't downgrade flat so that pasta wife could live in 28 k per month house...

Β

How many times must this be said?

Β

Sometimes I think people come here to delib mistate and obfuscate, its just a shame they no skill to actually argue a case.

usually when CAD steps in, it means there is "something" is already not right..... now the question is what is not right. If the monk can be jailed but a 50k offence, i reckon something "big" is coming Kong Hee Fatt Choy's way

Well things seem to be hotting up over in the dark knight thread...now there are allegations that Xtron, the producer for Sun has somehow received a $7 million loan in the form of unsecured bonds from CHC....

Β

Hmmm... that would be interesting....

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Β

One very important fact for all to remember when interpreting the above sentence (be you Christians or otherwise)

Β

Kong Hee is NOT the Lord.
