no offence but from my observation, most of the mainstream pastors here are almost as rich as pastor kong. That's why it's better for them to keep their mouths shut.

Unfortnuately, such churches do not flourish for a very simple reason.. No doubt, they are traditional (which they should) but they are not popular with the mass who prefer to go to a hip place like CHC and NCC ie..

 

Imagine one day for those who are Buddhist ie and go to a particular temple and found out that the monks there have form a rock band for chanting.. Well, isn't this what we're seeing in the mordern Churches nowadays..

Whether a church flourishes is not measured by the number of followers, but by the depth of their relationship with God. I truly believe that God will be much happier with a group of 30 devoted followers rather than 30,000 thrill-seeking money-minded pastor-worshiping church-goers.

true... Its not the quantity that counts but the eventually quality of believers.

 

I also don't object to the way mega churches worship service with Banners, Flags, Strobe lights, loud music and rock genre... as long as the heart is contrite. But frankly for me such loud music just distracts me more.

Actually those i refering to are really into christianity. not your average joe youth who join for the wrong reason.

Some of them have the capability to lead a small bible study group and their understanding of the words are pretty good for their age.

We must always remember that youth and adult function and react to different things.

 

when they grow older, they will learn to appriate the slower song and slowly edge out of the hippy song style of worship.
