Kia K5

i drive a jdm accord, just bought it a few days back 2nd hand

went to malaysia earlier today to push the car and test its limits, while the engine is really powerful i feel it can't match the handling of a forte (driven up NSH in a forte b4)

day to day driving i'll surely pick the accord because its far more comfortable

but when comparing handling, grip, stability and pure brute force horsepower my pick will be the forte instead of a honda civic (my brother's) or my current accord

the forte is slower by quite a margin, yes but you can hear the engine spring to life and roar when pushed to its limits then hear it change its tone when you push it even further

the civic is way too computerized and too easy to drive that there's no fun in driving it

my accord feels too big to be taken round the corners the way i would with a forte

the m6 feels more sturdy than the accord but accord is far more powerful than the m6

i haven't tested the k5 but from my point of view kia knows how to make their cars and people shouldn't discredit them because they are korean instead of japanese

the facts speak for themselves

korean mid range cars - forte, koup

have 6 speed gearboxes

toyota doesn't even have a 6 speed gearbox in their top of the line camrys, infact the camry comes in 4 speed

do note that cvt doesn't have speeds, its 1 big gear but split into smaller ranges to emulate different gears

for Mazda6, you gotta take the SP2.3 (previous model) or the 6 2.5R (new model)... while the paper spec ain't great, real world performance is a diff matter all together, especially with the free revving engine...

Neutral Newbie

Well, i prefer that the majority of the public thinks that Korean car are lousy, that way The AD wouldn't jack up the price sky high like mazda or honda. I would be able to save $$ on a better car without the prestige.

It fascinates me that even with Korean labour being one of the most expensive in the world, they can still make a car with such a low price. And it comes with tonnes of features at that.

It's great that they profit based on large sales quantity. This is what I want to see, instead of paying huge bucks for the brand, which isn't even branded. And the car comes bare with features.
